Great trip away for our young boxers tonight in Paddo Sydney.
Unfortunately George's opponent had to withdraw at late notice so we ended up with an exhibition bout on the night. Ava had a great bout with a strong 33 year old local girl and lost in a tough challenge but gained plenty of learning experience from tonight. Along with Oliver stepping up against a more experienced Irishman and going the distance with him.

Ounce again very proud of our 3 boxers tonight stepping up and looking for more experience. Tough challenges and set backs all rolled in with success is what makes a complete boxer at our Gym. Cheers Gavin O.

🥊 YOUTH MEN’S WELTERWEIGHT — NSW vs TASMANIA

Another NSW vs Tassie clash hits the Paddo this Friday night, as 17-year-old George O’Callaghan from O’Callaghan Boxing Gym takes on 17-year-old Nicholas Darcy from Battaglia Boxing.

O’Callaghan is making the trip across from Penguin on Tasmania’s North West Coast, with his dad and coach Gavin O’Callaghan in his corner.

Across the ring, Darcy represents Battaglia Boxing and is coached by Mike Battaglia and the team at FORMA. He makes his return to Oxford Street this Friday, having last featured at Paddo Punch-On 14.

🥊 WOMEN’S FEATHERWEIGHT — NSW vs TASMANIA

An interstate clash hits the Paddo this Friday night, with 31-year-old Keely O’Neill from Easts Boxing taking on 18-year-old Ava Powell from O’Callaghan Boxing Gym.

O’Neill, coached by the team headed up by Jayson Laing, returns to competition after a year away and does so two weight divisions lighter.

Across the Bass Strait, Powell and coach Gavin O’Callaghan are making the trip from Penguin on Tasmania’s North West Coast to fly the flag for Tassie.

NSW vs Tasmania. Experience vs youth. A cracking featherweight match-up on a huge Friday night card. 👊

🥊 MEN’S 83KG CATCHWEIGHT — NSW vs TASMANIA

Another interstate clash hits the Paddo this Friday night, with 24-year-old Niall Doherty from Legends Gym taking on 19-year-old Oliver Clews from O’Callaghan Boxing Gym in Tasmania.

Originally from Ireland, Doherty arrived in Australia just four months ago and will make his first appearance on Aussie soil after last competing back home in November. With eight fights under his belt, he’ll have the motley crew at Legends in his corner.

Making the trip across from Penguin on Tasmania’s North West Coast, Clews heads to Sydney with coach Gavin O’Callaghan and a perfect record through his first three fights.
