*** PARACOMBE OVAL β DRAINAGE WORKS ***
As outlined in the notice below, works will be undertaken at Paracombe Oval next week to install a new sub-soil drainage system. Due to excavation and trenching works, the oval will be unavailable for use from 11β15 May.
This $45,000 infrastructure project is expected to significantly improve drainage and allow greater year-round use of the oval β particularly in the lead-up to cricket season, when the grounds have previously become waterlogged and unusable.
A big thank you to cricket club committee members Alec Walsh and Barry Merritt for their work in planning the project and securing a substantial grant from Adelaide Hills Council to help fund it. We also acknowledge the valuable financial support provided by the Paracombe Hall and Oval Complex - Paracombe Recreation Grounds Inc. and SA Medieval Fair.
A special thanks also to Simon Hoff (SAR Bobcat and St Agnes Tyre and Auto) for his support and contribution to the project, and to all the volunteers who will be lending a hand and getting their hands dirty over the coming days.
Please be advised that excavation drainage works will be carried out on Paracombe Oval next week. From Monday 11th May the oval will not be able to be used until works are completed, weather dependent hopefully by Friday 15th May.
Sorry for any inconvenience during this period.
