VICTORY! 🏆🥊🏉

What a way to finish an incredible season

At nearly 40, I’ve somehow managed to come out the other side with a boxing victory AND a Grand Final victory 😎

None of it happens alone.

A massive thank you to everyone who’s trained alongside me, coached me, supported me and been in my corner throughout this journey.

And especially to my wife Courtney Hawkins, who holds down the fort and gives me the support that allows me to keep chasing ridiculous challenges like these 💜

Whatever your age or ability, never stop challenging yourself.

14 weeks of preparation for 6 minutes of work 🥊

And we got the win!

But this experience was about a lot more than getting my hand raised.

Juggling boxing preparation alongside a full footy season wasn’t easy, but I kept showing up.

I trained when I was tired, got punched in the face more times than I care to remember 😂 but kept learning and moving forward.

When the time came to step under the lights, I knew I’d done the work.

A massive thank you to coach David Rangi Thomas and the entire team at Revolution Training Centre for the knowledge, preparation and support throughout this journey.

And to my wife, friends and everyone who got behind me along the way.
Thank you 💜

There’s something powerful about putting yourself in situations that challenge you.

You don’t always come out the other side the same person who went in.

This is where the name Firehawk Strength comes from 🔥🦅

When I was trying to come up with a name for the business, I came across the story of Australia’s “firehawks” Birds such as Whistling Kites, Black Kites and Brown Falcons that have been observed around fires, using fire to create opportunities to hunt.

What stuck with me wasn’t just the name. It was the concept behind it.

Using what you’ve got. Thinking outside the field. Finding opportunity where others might only see a problem.

That’s pretty much what I wanted Firehawk Strength to represent.

Working with people, finding different ways around barriers, and not assuming that because the obvious way doesn’t work, there isn’t another way.

Pretty cool seeing Adventures share the story behind the birds that helped give Firehawk Strength its name 🔥

Adapt. Find another way. Create opportunity.

Sometimes the best days are the simple ones.

Yesterday I had the privilege of joining my eldest daughter on her school excursion to Capricorn Caves

Between the climbing, the laughs and the conversations, it was a reminder that being present is one of the greatest gifts we can give our kids.

Work is important. Training is important. But these moments matter too 💜
