A few of our team headed out on Saturday for a sparring day. It was a great opportunity to get some rounds in with unfamiliar training partners and experience different styles and strategies.

Our Runners to Walkers crew hit the park this morning, and while the wind was definitely icy, the sunshine made for a beautiful start to the day! ☀️❄️

It was great to see everyone getting out there and making the most of the long weekend. This week also marked the start of our fitness assessments for the upcoming gradings, and it was awesome to see so many people turning up, putting in the effort, and getting the job done.

Progress doesn't come from perfect conditions—it comes from showing up, and that's exactly what this group does week after week. Well done everyone!

What a fantastic afternoon celebrating a birthday with a great group of 8 & 9-year-old boys! 🎉

The kids had an absolute blast on the jumping castle, practicing flying side kicks, battling it out in dodgeball, and testing their skills in sword combat. ⚔️🥋

Congratulations to Sensei Nicole and Chukyu Sal on achieving their Instructor Badges as fully qualified instructors!

Congratulations to Connor on achieving his STORM Badge as part of our Leadership Program!

It has been fantastic watching Connor step up and continue to develop his leadership skills.

This week we loved seeing him take the lead and run his own class, putting into practice everything he has been learning.

One of the most rewarding parts of our Leadership Program is watching students grow in confidence, and Connor is a great example of that. Month after month, he continues to challenge himself, learn new skills, and become a stronger leader both on and off the mats.

Keep up the great work, Connor! We can't wait to see what you achieve next.

What happens behind the scenes before our instructors step out onto the mats?

Tonight, our Leadership Team took on a unique challenge: use our existing equipment in completely new ways to create drills with a purpose. The goal wasn't just to come up with something fun—it was to design activities that help students learn skills more effectively, stay engaged, and get better results from their training.

Working in teams, they brainstormed, tested ideas, refined their concepts, and presented their drills to the group. It was fantastic to see the creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork on display.

At Kumiai Ryu High Impact, we believe great instructors never stop learning. Our Leadership Team is constantly developing their coaching skills, exploring new ways to teach, and finding creative solutions to help every student succeed.

The best classes don't happen by accident—they're built by instructors who are committed to growing, improving, and giving their students the best possible experience.

We're excited to see some of these new ideas make their way into future classes!

🐍🎲 WINTER SNAKES & LADDERS CHALLENGE IS HERE! 🎲🐍

Winter is coming... but we're not slowing down!

From 1st June until 31st August, every class you attend gives you a chance to climb the board in our Winter Snakes & Ladders Challenge.

Here's how it works:

🎲 Attend a class = 1 dice roll
🎲 Attend a special event (Saturday Morning Runs, workshops, and other eligible events) = 1 extra dice roll
🎲 We'll roll the dice for everyone each evening and move you around the giant Snakes & Ladders board
🎲 Reach the finish line and win a $20 Voucher!

The best part?

🏆 You can win multiple times!
🏆 Every time someone reaches the finish line, they win a voucher.
🏆 The game then resets and starts again, giving everyone another chance to race to the top.

Will you climb the ladders to victory? Or will a sneaky snake send you sliding back down the board?
