💙 WHY I WALK 💙
Because the world is not always autism-friendly.
I’m walking 12,000 steps every day this May for the 70% of autistic people who experience mental health challenges. For the children who are misunderstood. For the families fighting every day to access support. For the individuals who feel they need to change who they are just to fit into a world that wasn’t built with them in mind.
Autism isn’t something that needs fixing. What needs changing is the understanding, acceptance and support that surrounds it.
This cause is close to my heart and close to my family. I’ve seen the challenges that come with navigating systems, advocating for support and helping a child thrive in a world that can sometimes be overwhelming. But I’ve also seen incredible strengths, unique perspectives and achievements that deserve to be celebrated.
Every one of the 372,000+ steps I’ve taken this month has been for awareness, acceptance and hope. Hope that autistic individuals can grow up in a world where they are understood, included and valued exactly as they are.
This Saturday marks my FINAL walk for the month, and I’d love for our community to join me.
We have a signed Manly jersey up for grabs, along with amazing prizes generously donated by local businesses.
Then at 2:30pm, I’ll complete my final walk of May. Whether you join for a few steps or the whole walk, your support means more than you know.
Together, let’s create a world that is more understanding, more accepting and more supportive of autistic people and their families.
💙 Because awareness starts conversations.
💙 Acceptance changes lives.
💙 And every step forward matters.
