DAY TWO

Another glorious Orange winter’s day and another big day of rugby at the U13 NSW Junior State Championships. Here’s how Day 2 looked through our photographer’s lens.

Some good Friday night finishers …

Our First Grade backline swapped their sidestep for selling tickets at the Friday night meat raffle and Joker Draw at our major sponsor the Hotel Canobolas.

It was fantastic to see so many players, officials and families involved in the U13 NSW State Championships enjoying a meal and supporting one of the businesses that proudly supports our club.

WHAT A FIRST DAY …

After a challenging lead-up, the sun finally broke through to deliver a fantastic opening day of the U13 NSW Junior State Championships at Pride Park and Max Stewart Oval.

There were some quality contests across both venues, with plenty of skill, effort and enthusiasm on display. It was particularly pleasing to see the Central West boys perform strongly and represent their region so well.

Events like this don’t happen by accident. Thank you to the coaches, managers, referees, assistant referees and ground marshals who give their time to junior rugby.

A special thanks also to the Orange City Rugby Club volunteers who helped prepare the grounds, stock facilities, run the canteen, cook the food, keep the fire buckets burning and ensure visiting players and families had a positive experience.

Day one done. Plenty more rugby still to come.

ICYMI …

Today Sports Minister Steve Kamper MP and I officially cut the ribbon to open the new change rooms and amenities at Pride Park,

A nearly $1 million investment by the NSW Government.

It also coincided with the u13/s State Rugby Championships.
An event that brings around $2 million into the local economy.

Sports Tourism is a significant driver of investment into our town and will only grow with the new sporting precinct.

Thanks again Minister Kamper for visiting Orange again and for your support of our local community.

GOOD LUCK

Congratulations to all the Orange City players who have worked hard to earn selection in their age group to represent the Central West at the NSW Junior State Championships.

We also congratulate the Orange City members selected as coaches, managers and administrators. Your contribution is every bit as important as those taking the field.

From players to officials, your involvement is a reminder of what makes rugby unique. There is a place for everyone in our game, and it is the collective efforts of people on and off the field that make events like this possible.

Represent your region proudly, enjoy the experience and make the most of the opportunity.

THERE’S STILL RUGBY AT PRIDE PARK THIS LONG WEEKEND

While the regular season takes a break for the general bye, Pride Park and the wider Waratahs Sports Precinct will be buzzing with activity as teams from across New South Wales converge on Orange.

For the 11th consecutive year, Orange City Rugby Club is proud to host the U13 NSW Junior State Championships.

Games will be played across the long weekend from 6–8 June, showcasing some of the state’s most talented young rugby players.

Come up and enjoy the action. If you’d like to lend a hand, we’re also looking for volunteers throughout the weekend. Send us a DM and help make this fantastic event a success.
