🚨 Trial Complete! 🚨 That’s a wrap on the 2025 Scent Work Trial — and WOW, what a weekend!

🐶 350 runs | 115 dogs | 70 handlers | 3 judges | 2 epic days

We couldn’t have done it without our incredible community. Huge thanks to:

👩‍⚖️ Judges Tracie Donelly, Amanda Delaney & Marion Leaver — for the brilliant puzzles and great vibes. Tracie kept her streak alive with the first Q of the trial again and Marion also achieved some great results!

Reminder: entries for the Orange scent work trial open this Sunday (after breakfast) on K9 Entries.

We will need volunteers to help out during the trial - all vollies will go into the draw to win an awesome prize from YETI!

Check in times are all TBC, however the following is an indication:
7:30-8am Advanced (Saturday) and Novice (Sunday)
8:30-9am Masters (Saturday) and Excellent (Sunday)
12:30-1pm Excellent (Saturday) and Masters (Sunday)

The Bearded Hound will be onsite selling their awesome dog treats. We are working on getting a bbq/coffee van but nothing is confirmed as yet.

Thank you Peta Clarke for a wonderful weekend of learning! Every session was jam packed with information - it wasn't just the dogs that went home exhausted at the end of each day. We hope you'll come back for round 2!

Thanks also to all of the attendees for bringing your sense of humour, and being respectful and supportive of each other. It made a really nice learning environment for everyone.

PETA CLARKE SEMINAR POSTPONED

The Peta Clarke scent work seminar scheduled for this weekend has been postponed due to instructor illness. Peta is devastated not to be coming to Orange this weekend to share her insights into scent work. The Club wishes Peta a speedy recovery and we look forward to welcoming her to town in the near future.

All participants have been emailed, but in case anyone hasn't checked their inbox we are posting here as well. A new date will be announced very shortly!

Sunday morning session - Handling - who's job is it anyway?
Sunday afternoon session - What's your wobble? Problem solving session
Working spots (half day sessions) $100 for members and $130 for non members (includes auditing other session of that day)
Auditing spots $40 per day

On Saturday, 12 lucky puppers and their handlers attended a scent work seminar at the Australian National Field Days site. Not even the rain could stop us!

A big thank you to Amanda Delaney for travelling to the Central West and introducing us to some great confidence building games, as well as providing expert insights and guidance to expand our our club members' skills. All dogs (and their humans) had a great time learning in the relaxed and fun environment.
