🏀 TERM 4 TEAMS ARE HERE! 🏀
What a response we’ve had to Term 4 basketball!
Registrations have been oversubscribed across our non-Open grades, which is an incredible position for Euroa Basketball to be in.
We know it’s disappointing for the families currently on our waitlists, and we’ll keep looking for opportunities to bring more players into the competition if places become available.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to grading - and especially to our volunteer coaches who have put their hands up to support our players this season. We have a great mix of returning coaches and some first-time EBA coaches, which is fantastic to see. We simply couldn’t run community basketball without them. 🙌
We’ll also be allocating team managers shortly. If you’re a parent who’d be happy to help your team in this role, please reach out!
🏀 A NOTE ABOUT GRADING
While we’ve done our best to create balanced teams from grading, the first few rounds will continue to form part of the team grading process.
There’s only so much you can learn from drills and short games. Once competition starts, we’ll get a much better picture of how the grades and teams are balanced.
That means players may move between teams during the first few rounds.
For our Junior Grade, there are no fixed teams. Our Joeys and Cubs players will be mixed into different teams each week, giving our youngest players the chance to play alongside different teammates and focus on learning, participation and having fun.
❤️ SUPPORTING OUR PLAYERS & COACHES
We’re also very excited to have Paul Allen, North East Bushrangers coach, roaming across the courts this season, supporting our volunteer coaches and helping them create positive, supportive team play.
We’ll also be introducing some adjusted rules across the competition designed to support development, participation and better all-round basketball. We’ll share more about those before Round 1.
Most importantly, this is community basketball. Play hard, be a great teammate, respect the refs and opposition, and help make Tuesday nights something our kids want to come back to every week.
Stay tuned as the Committee are pulling together a "Meet the Coach and Team” session for Sunday October 4th to come say hi, pick up your singlet and warm up before Round 1 Opener on October 6th.
Bring on Term 4! 🏀
