Hansa Sailing are seeking worldwide donations of second-hand or unused Hansa 2.3 and 303 boats for refurbishment and deployment in emerging sailing nations.
Any boats that are no longer used, require repair, or are in storage can be given a new purpose by providing accessible sailing opportunities in developing programs around the world. Donated boats will be refurbished by Hansa Sailing where necessary and distributed to support inclusive sailing and grassroots participation worldwide. Boat should include (where possible) hull, spars, keel, rudders and rudder boxes. Sails are not required.
Once refurbished, Hansa Sailing will arrange to donate the boats to startup programs around the world. Recognition of the original donor will be acknowledged. For more information, email [email protected]

The IHCA and Organising Authority for the 2026 Hansa Class European Championships wish to advise of a change of date.

The event will now take place from September 13th to 19th at BISC Barcelona.

The change of date came about due to a lack of accessible and affordable flights and accommodation during the originally scheduled week of the Championships, mainly due to a medical conference being held at the same time with over 20,000 expected attendees.

We understand that some sailors and teams will have already secured accommodation, and we apologize for any inconvenience this date change causes. By moving the Championships back by a week should ensure that all sailors who wish to attend will now have the opportunity to do so.

Our founders Chris and Jackie featured in a recent World Sailing article.

Living in Singapore at the time, he saw an opportunity to introduce more Asian people to the sport. But there was a problem – the boats being used for beginners, particularly the Optimist, were unstable, capsizable, and impractical for a region where many people were traditionally non-swimmers.
