Spring is here, the sun’s out and it’s time to get back between the tape at Superbowl!

Flow X is two hours of good old-fashioned MTB fun — 4 timed stages, predominantly downhill, with untimed liaison sections in between. Send it, race your mates, chase your own times or just come and see what racing is all about.

🪏💪 Trail Work - 1:30pm Saturday - Superbowl 💪🪏

👉 Bring gloves, enclosed shoes, water and sun protection.
👉 If you’ve got tools, bring them along — if not, no stress, we’ve got you covered.

We have had some fantastic riding weather recently, and we hope you have been out enjoying the trails! While the work on the lower section of the airflow trails at Superbowl continues, we are looking to give some other sections a freshen up to prepare for our next Holiday Haven Flow X round on the 19th of September (entries are open! https://entryboss.cc/races/32028).

Track work is a huge part of keeping SCUM trails riding well year-round, and we really appreciate any support you can provide. If you have some spare time on Saturday afternoon, please come out and lend a hand!

🚲 MISSING KIDS BIKE & HELMET – COONDOO 🚲

A kids bike and helmet were accidentally left behind at Coondoo on Saturday and the owner is very keen to be reunited with them!

If you’ve spotted them, picked them up for safekeeping, or know anything about their whereabouts, please send SCUM a message and we’ll connect you with the owner.

🌞🦋 XC Rd 4 Recap 🦋🌞

We had an absolutely fantastic afternoon on the trails yesterday for round 4 of our SCUM XC series, with perfect weather and great dirt. It was awesome to be back racing at Butterfly and the course was in prime condition after a sprinkling of rain and the extensive work done by our trail team 💪

There was lots of great racing out on track, with riders of all ages enjoying the sunshine and relaxed atmosphere. The Butterfly loop offered a good level of challenge for all abilities, with some tough climbing separated by fun, flowy sections where you can catch your breath (if you’re lucky!). With recent road upgrades, hopefully we will get to go back out and race at Butterfly more regularly! Final results will be on the website soon 📝

As always, we wouldn’t be able to run these events without our amazing crew of volunteers, who ensure that everything operates smoothly on the day (and in the lead up!). We really appreciate those who step in to help out! If you would like to volunteer at one of our SCUM events, please send us a message or reach out via [email protected] - any help goes a long way!

Next up we will have our monthly track work day on the 12th of September, followed by round 3 of our Holiday Haven Flow X series at Superbowl on the 19th of Septemver. Make sure to put these dates in your calendar and keep an eye out for more details closer to the events!

• ✍️ RACE PLATE COLLECTION: 12.00-1.00 pm (u/11 racers must collect their race plate no later than 12.15 to be ready for their race briefing on the start line at 12.30)

• 🏁 UNDER 11 EVENT: 12.30 pm - Racers must be on the start line at 12.30 for their race briefing, followed by the race start.

• 🗣️ MAIN EVENT BRIEFING: 1.00 pm - All racers must attend the race briefing. The briefing will outline the race course, trail conditions, rules and safety and other important information.

We are super excited to be heading out to race at Butterfly this weekend for the 4th round of our Club XC series, and this is one you don’t want to miss! We don’t often hold events at Butterfly, but we are taking advantage of the recent upgrades to Butterfly Road, so make sure you come out for some great racing!

Butterfly is an awesome XC loop, with a great mix of raw and rocky tech (up and down), and some sweet flowy sections, rewarding you for the hard work in between. Lots of hand built single track is on show throughout this course, and our recent track work day has helped to get it primed for racing!

All the details, including directions, full schedule, lap numbers for different categories, along with some important race etiquette and safety information, can be found on the event page on our website, so head over and have a read.

Remember, all entries can be scratched up until entries close (8am Saturday) for an automated refund, so there is no risk in getting your entry in early (and it helps us to get an idea of how many people are coming!). Jump on now and get your entry in - no excuses! 😎

🤩🪏 Butterfly Trail Work Recap! 🪏🤩

What a crew! An enthusiastic all-ages team of SCUM volunteers came along to Saturday’s trail work session at Butterfly. The focus was on digging, shaping, packing, and fine tuning sections of the trail to get our beloved Butterfly race ready for our XC club race next weekend (15th of August - https://www.scum.asn.au/xc_series.html).

This race is extra special, as it will be the first event we have hosted at Butterfly in a very long time, and it is a fantastic course to race on! Entries are open now, and you can use the link in our bio or jump on the SCUM website to register! Don’t miss out 🏁🎉

🛠️🌿 TRAIL WORK DAY – LET'S GET BUTTERFLY RUNNING MINT! 🌿🛠️
The best trails don't happen by accident... they're built and maintained by volunteers who love riding just as much.

This Saturday we're heading to Butterfly to get the trails race-ready, and we'd love to see a big crew come along. It's a great chance to give back to the trails, meet other riders, learn a few trail-building tricks and have some fun along the way.
Whether you've been to every trail work day or it's your first one, everyone is welcome. Many hands really do make light work!
