Last year we had the privilege of restoring a 70-year-old autographed RK Crockett Lindsay Hassett bat. It arrived tired and worn, the handle damaged, the toe in need of rebuilding, the back darkened by decades of use.

But underneath it all was something worth saving.

Restoring a bat like this is not just about repairing timber. It is about preserving memories. The innings played. The summers passed. The stories handed down.

There is something special about bringing a piece of cricket history back to life and seeing the grain glow again.
