⛳️ Practice Green Update ⛳️
Members and visitors may have noticed unusual streaking patterns that have recently appeared on sections of the practice green.
To better understand the issue, comprehensive disease testing was undertaken through a specialist laboratory. The results showed minimal evidence of active pathogens in either the leaf tissue or root zone, indicating the symptoms are unlikely to be disease related.
The pattern of damage is highly unusual and suggests the possibility of an external or foreign substance having impacted the turf surface. In other words, someone may have done this on purpose.
To maintain access while recovery works continue, the upper section of the practice green will remain open for use. We are also assessing the option of over-sowing with Poa Trivialis to provide winter cover and improve surface usability throughout the cooler months.
While this is an unfortunate situation beyond the control of club staff, we are committed to implementing the most appropriate remediation measures and restoring the practice green as quickly as possible.
