2027 marks 60 years of the Hamilton Hawks.

60 years of players, coaches, volunteers, families, friendships and pride in the jersey.

Now it’s time to write the next chapter.

With newly appointed Head Coach Hamish McKie leading us into 2027, we’re building a coaching and management team to take the Hawks forward.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
Today we celebrate all the dads, granddads and father figures who are such an important part of our Hawks family.

The ones on the sidelines, behind the BBQ, driving to training, tying boots, coaching teams, volunteering, cheering loudly and always being there when it matters.

Thank you for the time, support, encouragement and countless hours you give to our players, our families and our club.

To those with us today, and those we remember and carry with us Happy Father’s Day.

HAMISH McKIE TO LEAD NEW ERA OF HAWKS RUGBY!

Hamilton Rugby Club is excited and extremely proud to announce Hamish McKie as our Head Coach for the 2027 season.

A true Hawks product, Hamish joined the Hawks as a 13 year old junior and has gone on to live and breathe Hamilton Rugby ever since.

From the junior ranks through to senior rugby, Hamish has proudly represented the club and been part of premiership winning teams, while also taking his rugby to higher honours representing Hunter, NSW Country and the Hunter Wildfires.

As the club Head Coach and Coach of Premier 1, Hamish brings a great rugby mind, a wealth of playing experience and importantly, a genuine understanding of what makes our club special.

He knows that success is built on more than what happens on the field. Club culture, connection, standards and pride in the jersey matter.

Few people understand the Hawks quite like Hamish does. He knows where we’ve come from, what the jersey represents and what it means to be part of the Hamilton Rugby family.

We’re incredibly excited to have one of our own leading the club into 2027.

Friendships forged over 11,000 miles!
🇬🇧🤝🇦🇺🦅🐘🏉

Great to see the growing friendship between Spalding RFC and Hamilton Hawks featured in the local paper over in Spalding, Lincolnshire!

The connection started when Lachlan Summers and Harry Brett finished a Hawks Season and left to play together for Spalding. Lachie went on to play two seasons with Spalding, becoming a big part of the club and helping build what has become a special relationship between the two clubs.

That friendship continues today, with Jack Patrick and Henry Duce currently playing Down Under for Hamilton Hawks, both recently getting on the scoresheet in the Hawks’ P3 24–22 win over Maitland.

Spalding Director of Rugby Thomas Duce recently visited the Hawks, bringing with him a framed Spalding playing jersey which was presented to Lachie in recognition of his two seasons with the club.

The Hawks returned the gesture by presenting shirts to the Spalding players.
11,000 miles apart, but connected through rugby. 🏉

It’s brilliant to see the relationship between the two clubs continuing to grow, with friendships and rugby experiences being shared on both sides of the world.

Here’s to many more years and plenty more players making the journey in both directions!
