Well today was certainly busy!

With the three boys running, there was no rest for anyone!! With radiators overheating and sprockets destroying themselves, Hayden finished the day in 2nd and Sean in 3rd. Sammy however, had a bit of a shocker and finished the day on his side- literally!

Two race cars, three drivers- it’s a busy Sunday!!

We are down at Nepean Raceway for the CSR Fabrications Sunday Slides event. It’s a non points round so Sean is having a run in Hayden’s with the dads in open!

It’s not often you say goodbye to your first race car at 14 but that is what happened over the weekend. With Hayden now choosing the open wheel life, the mighty junior sedan was sold to make some room in the shed (and our schedule!)
The Hyundai excel that was built by Sean from the start served Hayden well over his time in junior sedans and has now been sold to be run as a 4 cylinder.
We can’t thank everyone that played a huge role in supporting Hayden in Jnr sedans, Blake and Les at Darcy’s Truck Repairs from the paint to the straightening of the car when there were some accidents. Jamie at Pinnacle Graffix for making it one of the best looking cars (in our opinion). Richard and David at Craft Diffs for the mechanical side of things. Jeff at Dutchy Automotive for the wheels and tyres. Lastly, for Sean (Dad) for the hard work in making the car one of the nicest in the pits- all the blood sweat and tears was worth it!

While the Jnr is done, we now focus on the outlaw karts and micro racing!
Next race is this Sunday at Nepean Raceway for round 6 of the NSW Outlaw Karts club championship!

NSW Title 🏁

On Sunday, the boys contested their NSW Title at Lake Liddell’s Short track.

Sammy had a tough day with a chain falling off in qualifying and then hitting the wall in Heat 1 which broke his front end. Heat 2 saw him come away with a second which put him in the feature out of 4th. After a tough battle, he came away with a 4th.

Hayden continued with his 2nd places with qualifying and both of his heats and then came away with a second in the feature.

Again, we could not have done this weekend without our valued sponsors and friends, who jumped in and helped us out with parts and putting the karts back together. Mark at and Shiny at for keeping the parts in stock so the boys could continue racing.

Two seems to be the lucky number.

The boys raced at Lake Liddell Speedbowl tonight for the POWRi nationals. Both had a good start to heat one, however both ended heat 2 on the infield. With a lot of work to do, dad and a great group of friends worked together to get Hayden’s kart repaired and race ready.
Heat three saw both boys rip the lip and move forward gaining good points for the feature. In the end both coming away with a second.

Tomorrow the boys will race for the NSW title.

A double 2 for Round 5!

Today the boys hit the track Nepean Raceway for Round 5 of the NSW Outlaw Karts. With the weather not playing nice all week, we were definitely lucky to get this round in!
Sam and Hayden both had good heats races which put them in good starting positions for the feature race.
Sam had a great race starting from 3rd and managed to get into 2nd early on and challenged for the lead he settled for second.
Hayden starting 2nd in the feature, dropped to third but worked back into 2nd by the end of the race.

🏁 Nationals wrap up 🏁

In what was the biggest weekend of the Micro Racing calendar, Hayden tackled the clay of Lake Liddell Speedbowl against some of the best juniors in Australia.

Friday and Saturday night were used to get Hayden comfortable and the car running right, after some early motor issues.
Sunday came with some more confidence to send it, and he did just that. In his first heat he lead the way from the drop of the green, until getting beat going into the last corner. Heat two Hayden held his own which gave him a 13th starting spot in the feature. Feature time came around and Hayden worked the whole race to bring home a strong 9th out of 21 cars.

Once again an awesome weekend spent with family and friends. A huge thanks to Mitch and the team of volunteers at Lake Liddell for a great meeting.

🏁 It’s Nationals Weekend 🏁

We have made it to Lake Liddell Speedbowl for Hayden to tackle the biggest weekend in micro racing. He will race over two nights with some of the best micro racers across NSW, Vic and QLD.

Round 4 of the NSW Outlaw Karts Club championship is a wash out. We made it to Lake Liddell Speedbowl when the decision was made that it was rained out.
