Here’s a little look into what exams are like for some of our youngest ballerinas at Prima Ballet Academy!

Exam can seem like a scary word, but it’s really a chance for our dancers to perform their skills, develop confidence and feel proud of their achievements!

We work hard to ensure exams are a positive experience for all students - much of this post applies to our older exam students too!

We had a lovely conversation with one of our little exam students the other day who said ‘I think I can do an exam on my own (without a teacher) this year. I know it’s not scary because I’ve done it before! I know I can do it!’

It’s the kind of confidence and self belief that they’ll carry through life wherever they go 💜

A random Wednesday for some, but absolute magic is happening in our studio 💜

Our Pre-Primaries are learning SO much about technique, expression, musicality and artistry, all whilst having fun, forming friendships and making precious memories.

Well done to all our students who auditioned for the Victorian State Ballet performance of Aladdin yesterday. It takes a lot of courage and we couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you.

This is such a fantastic opportunity and a very special chance for young dancers to be a part of a professional ballet performance.

A big congratulations to our dancers who made it through, we can’t wait to watch you shine on stage! 💜

This program is designed to help our dancers achieve their personal technique and lifestyle goals safely, using evidence-based training methods.

Because every dancer’s body is unique, this program is completely individualised, making it perfect for ages 8 through to adults.

🩰Prima Ballet Academy 2025 Concert🩰
🧞‍♂️Friend Like Me🧞‍♂️
As we start preparing for our 2026 end of year concert in the studio we thought it was time to reflect upon our beautiful 2025 concert!

These little pocket rockets performed their first duo together to ‘Friend Like Me’ from Aladdin! They were electric on stage, with the most expressive smiles!Such a fun dance! Well done Elisa and Primrose 🧞‍♀️

🌸Bundle of Joy🌸
As we start preparing for our 2026 end of year concert in the studio we thought it was time to reflect upon our beautiful 2025 concert!

Our tiniest Twinkle Toes Toddler Ballerinas 🥰 We don’t normally put this age group on stage, but we had a very keen group of dancers so we decided to make it optional. They performed a piece to ‘Bundle of Joy’ from Inside Out - the most fitting title - and it turned out completely precious. Our goal was not ‘perfection’. It was for our littlest dancers to feel confident, supported and special up on stage. They had their dream sparkly tutus on, and their teacher, Miss Lila, up there with them to support them. We may have had a little improvising up on stage but our toddlers came off stage beaming (albeit reluctantly, they wanted to stay on and keep
dancing!)

Because of their age, we designed our concert schedule so they could spend minimal time backstage and then come and watch the concert with their families, and even backstage they were so confident and brave! Our older dancers definitely doted upon them. They were so proud of themselves and WE were so proud of them 🌸

Our beautiful, kind Grade 4s prepared the loveliest surprise for Miss Sarah on her birthday - a special birthday dance that they choreographed all on their own before class started.

Planned with so much love and care - right down to the ‘Please knock Miss Sarah!’ sign on the door.

And afterwards we all celebrated with cake and a core workout 🎂💪

We are so proud of these kind, thoughtful dancers 💜
