Well it has been over 12 months in the making but this evening it all becomes a reality.
The launch of a Motorsport scholarship in the great manās honour!
In the beginning I had no idea if this would ever become a reality, how to approach it, where to even start.
Come a year later and with the support of several generous Tasmanian businesses it has arrived.
The birth of āMozzas Mates Motorsportā into a fully fledged scholarship to assist a young racer in their pursuit of a motorsport dream.
This scholarship will include a kart from Energy Corse Racing Karts Tasmania, team support and data acquisition, set up, development and testing and a number of other items from supporting businesses.
It has been a great honour to put together something to remember a special friend, not only to me but to most people that crossed Mozzaās path.
Mozza was deeply generous, always willing to give anything to put a smile on someoneās face.
This scholarship embodies his spirit by offering a young Tasmanian the chance to pursue and realise their Motorsport aspirations.
The decision hasnāt been a quick one, the recipient had to be someone that embodied Mozzaās principals, followed his beliefs and had a bond with the great man.
This young person had to display great character on and off the circuit, be willing to help others and generally strive to do the best they can but have a lot of fun along the way.
It is my great pleasure to announce that Elenah Rankin has been awarded the inaugural āMozzaās Mates Motorsportā scholarship for 2023 and beyond.
Elenah has displayed all of the characteristics required to be a worthy recipient.
Her kindness, compassion and willingness to support others at the circuit is something I personally have seen on many occasions.
Elenah is a tireless competitor on track, always giving 100% and applying her craft to the highest standard.
Please wish me in welcoming Elenah Ranking Karting to Energy Corse Tasmania and Mozzaās Mates Motorsport.
We look forward to assisting Elenah and her family in pursuing her Motorsport dreams.
