A reminder to ALL as Interschools Nationals looms!

REMINDER SENSORY HAIR | Under Article 141 of EA's General Regulations — which sits within the Protection of Horses provisions of the regulations — horses' sensory hairs may not be clipped, shaved, or otherwise modified in any way. Similarly, hair inside the auricles (ears) may not be removed or shortened within the rims of the auricle. These rules have been in place for at least 18 months and apply across all EA competitions. You can read Article 141 in full in the EA General Regulations.

To all my wonderful coaches -thank you

💡 Ever wonder what makes a truly great coach? It’s not just about training or tactics, it’s about wearing MANY hats that shape riders both in the arena and in life.

A coach is…
✨ A Mentor – guiding with wisdom far beyond sport.
🔥 A Motivator – pushing riders to unlock their full potential.
📚 A Teacher – breaking down skills, strategies & knowledge.
♟️ A Strategist – building winning game plans tailored to each rider.
🗣️ A Communicator – clear, honest, and supportive.
⚖️ A Disciplinarian – setting standards and keeping respect strong.
❤️ A Supporter – standing by riders through pressure, setbacks, and success.
🔍 An Evaluator – always helping riders grow and level up.
🌟 A Role Model – leading with integrity, grit, and sportsmanship.
🤝 A Team Builder – creating connection, trust, and unity.

👉 But here’s the secret: The BEST coaches also shine when things go wrong.
Because in riding (and in life), the unexpected WILL happen. Horses don’t read the rulebook. 🐎

The ability to stay calm, adapt quickly, and guide riders through the unexpected, that’s the real superpower of a coach. 💪 mine will always be Pammy Hutton FBHS Dressage and Leanne Wall

Tag a coach who’s made a difference in your life ⬇️ They deserve to hear it today. 🙌

The sunlight was really working for us this weekend ✨📸

Another beautiful dressage combination, from Peninsula Horse Riders Club. It's so amazing to be able to take photos for HRCAV and see all the different club colors, and meeting new people.

No single perspective can tell the whole story.

A veterinarian may notice something different from a neuroscientist.

A coach may observe something another rider has never seen.

A biomechanist may explain movement in a completely different way again.

None of these perspectives is complete on its own.

Together, they help us better understand the horse.

Because better understanding creates better outcomes.

Equine Well-being. Performance. Longevity.

Today I spent time with these two wonderful young people!

Rose and Marigold, we have been together as a team for many years and each time I teach you both I am blown away by your commitment to learning and being a better partner for your Horse.

You are such wonderful ambassadors and we are all proud of your grit and grace both on and off the arena!

Congratulations Rose & Mac on representing Victoria in the Horseland Australian Interschool Championship to be held at WPNEC late September in the Eventing.

Big shout out to Marigold and Archie at their very first event together Sunday at Gisborne Pony Club dressage day winning bows in both tests.

Onwards and upwards⬆️

There are moments in life when no words are needed. A horse never asks where you've been, what you've achieved, or how many times you've failed. It only asks one silent question: "Can I trust you?"

Trust is never forced. It is earned in quiet mornings, patient hands, and the choice to stay when walking away would be easier. A horse can feel the weight of your heart long before you ever touch its neck. It recognizes kindness that cannot be faked and fear that cannot be hidden. That is why horses have always been among the purest mirrors of the human soul.

In this moment, there is no saddle, no competition, no applause. Just two living hearts sharing the same breath. One belongs to a creature that has known both freedom and captivity. The other belongs to a person still learning that strength is not measured by control, but by compassion.

The eye of a horse carries stories no language can fully translate. It remembers every gentle hand, every broken promise, every lonely night, and every sunrise that brought hope again. When you look closely enough, you realize you are not looking at an animal—you are looking into a soul capable of forgiveness without words.

Perhaps that is why so many people heal beside horses. They never pretend. They never judge. They simply stand beside you until the noise inside your mind becomes quiet again. Sometimes that silent presence is more powerful than a thousand conversations.

If you are lucky enough to earn the trust of a horse, protect it with everything you have. Because once a horse chooses to rest its heart beside yours, you become responsible for something far more valuable than loyalty. You become the keeper of a love that asks for nothing except honesty, patience, and kindness.

One day every memory will fade. But the feeling of having been truly trusted by another soul—that stays with you forever.
