❤️🤍 WELCOME TO THE BULL PIT, JO SMART - HOCKLEY 🤍❤️
We are incredibly excited to announce Jo Smart as Karingal FNC’s Head Coach & A Grade Coach for the 2027 season! 🏐🐮
Jo joins the Bull Pit with an incredible depth of experience across community, representative, school, Premier League, State and VNL netball.
Her coaching journey has included Assistant Coach roles with Peninsula Waves and Southern Saints at VNL Championship level, Head Coach of Bayside & District Netball Association’s representative program, Head Coach at St Michael’s Grammar, and most recently Head Coach & Premier 1 A Grade Coach at Melbourne Cricket Club Netball. Jo was also named in the U20 Australian Netball Team Squad and has spent many years developing not only players, but coaches and entire netball programs.
It’s an impressive netball CV, but it was everything beyond the CV that made us know Jo was the right person for Karingal. As a new local to the area, Jo was looking for an opportunity to genuinely become part of a local club and its community.
Jo understands how to balance a high-performing, competitive environment with player wellbeing, enjoyment and connection. She believes players should be challenged, held to high standards and supported to reach their potential, while still loving their netball and feeling like they belong to something bigger than what happens on court.
As Head Coach, Jo will lead our wider netball program, using her extensive experience in coach development and mentoring to support our coaches, strengthen our player pathways and continue building the standard of netball across the Bull Pit.
We’re incredibly excited about what Jo can bring to our club, not only as a coach, but as someone who genuinely understands the importance of people, culture and community in creating sustained success.
