💛 R U OK?

Football clubs are amazing places to connect, to belong and to be part of a community.

But we also know they can sometimes be lonely places, where people can quietly disappear.

Missing from training one night. Missing a match. Missing from the sideline. Not hanging around afterwards like they normally would.

Often it’s simply because life is busy. Work runs late, families have commitments and clashes happen.

But sometimes, it’s because someone is withdrawing.

And sometimes the people carrying the most are our young people.

They’re growing up and discovering who they are. Navigating friendships and relationships. Dealing with identity challenges. School pressures. Bullying. Family difficulties. Expectations. Social media. Trying to fit in while also trying to work out where they belong.

For adults, it can be work, relationships, finances, family, health or simply the accumulated pressures of everyday life.

For players. Coaches. Parents. Spectators. Volunteers.

We all have things going on.

Sometimes there just aren’t enough spoons.

That’s one of the reasons community matters.

Notice when someone isn’t there.

Notice when someone who is normally loud has gone quiet. When someone seems a little different. When someone starts stepping away from something they used to love.

Send the message. Make the phone call. Sit beside them.

Ask “R U OK?”

And then listen.

We don’t need to have the answers.

We don’t need to solve their problems or know exactly what to say.

We just need to listen and be there.

Sometimes knowing that somebody noticed, somebody cares and somebody is willing to listen can mean more than we realise.

At Strikers, we talk a lot about building a strong football club.

A strong club isn’t just measured by results, registrations or trophies.

It’s measured by how we look after each other.

So check in on your teammates. Your coaches. The parents beside you on the sideline. Your volunteers. Your friends.

And particularly our young people.

Let them know that our club is somewhere they belong.

Not just today, but every day.

💙🤍💛 Because nobody in our football family should quietly disappear without somebody noticing. 💙🤍🩷

💙 What a bittersweet weekend as we celebrated Father's Day while also bringing our Winter 2026 season to a close.🩷

🏆 Congratulations to our Players of the Match across Rounds 17 & 18! 👏We are incredibly proud of all our 2026 Strikers and the growth, determination, teamwork and sportsmanship they have shown throughout the Winter 2026 season. Whether it was your first game or your hundredth, every player has contributed to making this season a memorable one.

On that note, a huge thank you to all our players, families, coaches, referees and volunteers for making this season so special.

Furthermore, we'd also like to recognise the incredible Strikers Dads, Grandads and father figures who coach, train, run lines, help in the canteen, set up, pack down, drive, cheer and support our players every week. Your dedication helps make our club what it is - We hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

🎉 Next up... Presentation Day on 12 September!

We can't wait to come together one last time to celebrate the season, recognise achievements, and enjoy the friendships and community that make our club so special.

See you there! 🥳 💙💛

This one is worth a quick trip up Eastlink as Strikers take on rivals Knox City FC in a huge clash as we fight to avoid relegation.

It’s Knox’s home ground and their 75th anniversary celebration, so they’ll be looking to put on a show. But a big Strikers crowd, loud voices and plenty of support could make all the difference.

Reckon we can upset the celebrations tomorrow? There’s only one way to find out — be there and back the lads.

Let’s get there, get loud and cheer the boys home.

3PM KO
Always Strikers.💙💛

Our final away trip of the season this Saturday as we travel to Egan Lee Reserve to take on Knox!

As we approach the end of the season, this is a timely reminder of why we have rules around pitch entry and spectator behaviour.

It’s just a game. Even if you win the league, the prize is ultimately a felt flag.

The players are children. They’re here to have fun, build confidence, make friends and enjoy football. Long after the score is forgotten, they’ll remember how the day made them feel.

Referees and Game Leaders are people too. They will make mistakes, see things differently and only have one set of eyes. Often, they are another parent who has stepped up, or a young person learning the role. Treat them with the respect you would want shown to yourself or your own child. There is no excuse for abuse.

And remember: you are a role model. Your behaviour on the sideline shapes the environment our kids play in.

Please respect all pitch boundaries, bunting and fencing. Whether you're playing at home or being hosted by another club. They are there to protect players, officials and spectators—and to keep game days safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Let’s finish the season with the spirit Peninsula Strikers is proud to stand for: respect, enjoyment and community. 💙🤍💛

Seeking Expressions of Interest – Age Group Coaches

Peninsula Strikers Junior FC is inviting Expressions of Interest for our new Age Group Coach positions for the 2027 season.

This is NOT a traditional team coaching role.

We are looking for experienced and passionate coaches who can:
Work alongside our Technical Director to deliver structured training programs across an entire age category.
Mentor, guide and support our volunteer team coaches.
Help deliver a consistent coaching philosophy and development framework across the club.
Support the development of players of all abilities, from complete beginners through to Community A-grade players.
Ideally have formal coaching qualifications such as AFC diploma accreditation.
Significant experience coaching juniors.
Assist with team allocation and talent identification for programs like SAP nominations.
Must have clear WWCC

This is an exciting development for our club.
We are committed to working alongside the successful applicants to shape the program and build something that will benefit our players, coaches and club for many years to come.

Our long-term goal is to develop junior players who are technically, physically and culturally prepared to transition into senior football.
This includes creating pathways into our senior men’s and women’s teams competing across FV State League, FV Metropolitan and GMSA competitions.

We have the equipment. We have the facilities. Now we’re looking to add value to our members by raising the level of coaching we can provide. Our goal is to be THE destination community football club in the bayside peninsula region ⚽️💙💛
