This year's Wear it Purple Day theme is "Colours of Courage" 💜💜
We get that. A sport like wrestling can be incredibly daunting to try out, not just because it's a uniquely physical exercise, but also from the cultures of hyper masculinity and dominance that have long been associated with it. As a q***r sports club, we try hard to distance ourselves from those cultures and foster a sense of community, positivity and inclusion instead.
But with that said, it still takes a lot of courage to actually come through the doors and step onto the mats. So to all of our members and people who have come to try us out, thank you! We acknowledge that you've had to make a brave choice, and we're deeply grateful you did!
Wear it Purple Day is about supporting LGBTQIA+ youth, but this year's theme feels bigger than that, and strongly resonates with us and what we try to do. So if you're at home, at work, or just out and about, do your bit to show solidarity. Wear it purple! 🌈
