Time out is hopping in the old Landcruiser and taking the tent to find a place where the dirt is red, the sky is wide and all I can hear are the birds and the trees.

This week's guest on the Creative Momentum with Meg podcast is the lovely Samantha WL Lee, author of Bound. I loved hearing how she has created rituals that have helped her to get up at 5 am to write.
You can catch this episode wherever you listen to podcasts. Show notes are on my Substack, and you can read the interview on my website.

July was a busy month of reading.

I listened to a lot of books as I knitted, gardened and walked. Many of these stories are centred around the mother-daughter relationship which has been useful for me as I write about this theme.

What did you read in July?

You can read my thoughts about these and what books I'm now reading on my Substack.

This week's guest on the Creative Momentum with Meg podcast is Lynsey McDonnell whose historical fiction 'Bailey Street' came out last week.

I loved hearing her talk about her process and the work that she has done. She's a busy human and has to fit her writing into a full time job and parenting teens. She's done this by going away with some writing friends a couple of times a year to get blocks of writing done, and made sure she captures the scenes whenever they come to her.

I'm sure you'll enjoy this conversation as much as I enjoyed talking with her.

You can listen to it wherever you listen to podcasts.
