We're so glad everyone had fun, and beyond excited for the last three weeks of the winter program!!

Thank you to everyone who attended our free netball clinics this week as part of Active Launceston's Winter Come & Try Program! 🏐 We've thoroughly enjoyed the enthusiasm shown by everyone who attended and hope you all had as much fun as we did! 😁

Seniors Fitness sessions run at The Hub in Mowbray twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you haven't been in the last 6 months, we have a free ticket for you!

Get active, meet new people, and have some fun! Participants can test out our equipped fitness gym with the support of friendly volunteers. The session then moves onto the indoor court for coordination, movement, and ball activities, all set to the classic hits of the 60s and 70s.

We're running our first Active Launceston program of 2026!

Starting February 3 and running until March 12, you're invited to get out in the beautiful Launnie weather and come along to these free sessions.

This program includes Yoga & Tai Chi - perfect for improving fitness, flexibility and wellbeing in a friendly, welcoming environment.

Yoga
Build strength, posture and flexibility in this one-hour session.

Tai Chi
Improve balance, body awareness and mental focus.

Gentle Exercise
A 45-minute, low-impact class designed for those doing little to no physical activity.

After 18 busy years of establishing, growing and nurturing Active Launceston, our founder Lucy Byrne and the Healthy Tasmania team have made the tough decision to step back from managing our beloved program.

We’re thrilled to share that the City of Launceston has taken on full ownership and day-to-day stewardship of this much-loved community initiative. Lucy will put the Council team through the full Active Launceston 101, ensuring everyone’s up to speed and the program continues with minimal disruption.

We’ve no doubt Lucy and the team will never be too far away, cheering us on from the sidelines or joining us in a tree pose in City Park!
