A little about my coaching journey
I started competitive cycling in the 1990’s and have been involved regularly since. I’ve always been reasonably competitive in my age group for XC Mountain biking. I’ve done more mountain bike and road races than I care to remember.
Coaching wise I started whilst in my 20’s with Canoe Polo then Slalom Kayaking. In 2009 I started working with juniors in mountain biking through the LMBC Junior Development Squad. My official coaching journey started in 2015 with me gaining a Development Coaching certificate from Mountain Bike Australia. This was followed in 2016 with a Cycling Australia Development Coaching certificate in Road and Track. 2020 saw me sneak in a PMBIA Level 1 instructors certification before COVID. Then in 2022 I gained an Advanced Coach qualification in MTB and Road from AusCycling.
Since 2015 I’ve coached athletes that have won the MTBA National series (U15), Marathon National champ (U15),won the MTBA National cup (U19), National XCO champ (U17), medalist in National XCO (U19), medalist in Marathon (M5) amongst other achievements.
I’m committed to working with my athletes on a healthy balance of training and racing with other aspects of their life. I am thoroughly holistic in my approach offering advice on bike set up, nutrition, mental fortitude and strength and conditioning alongside training load/sessions and skills/technique instruction.
I really enjoy helping athletes be at their best, not just in riding but in other aspects of life too.
