Today I had the privilege of awarding Dr Dan Craig his third stripe on his Purple Belt.

Dan is a great example of what consistent effort looks like. He shows up, puts in the work, asks questions, and embraces the learning process that Jiu Jitsu demands.

Promotions are recognition of the habits built over time โ€” discipline, resilience, coachability, and the willingness to keep improving one session at a time.

After a solid two-hour private training session today, it was an easy decision to acknowledge the progress he has been making on the mats.

Congratulations to Callan on being awarded his Yellow/Black Belt this weekend.

This is a significant milestone and a reflection of years of consistent effort, discipline, resilience, and growth on the mats.

Belts are never about attendance alone. They represent skill, character, perseverance, and the ability to overcome challenges when things get difficult.

Callan has developed into an outstanding young martial artist and leader within our academy, and I couldn't be prouder of the young man he is becoming.

The Yellow/Black Belt is the highest youth rank I have awarded in my coaching career, making this promotion even more special.
