Today completed our Men's Pairs Matchplay.
Ken Goebel & Greg Heuston played Andrew Paroz & Derryn James.
Both pairs were squared after the 18th Hole, and went to the 20th Hole before Ken & Greg defeated Andrew & Derryn.
What a hard fought match!
Congratulations to both pairs for making the final, with Ken & Greg taking out the win.

Yesterday the ladies played their 36 Hole Championship Foursomes in cold (let's call it 'bracing') conditions. Sometimes you felt as if you could maybe take a layer of clothing off, then you would be hit with a cold wind, Brrrr.
Congratulations to our winning Gross pair: Cheryl Sternberg & Lail Emmerson-Smale with a score of 174. This was the 2nd win for them together, as they also took out the title in 2025.
Nett winners this year were Barbara Panzram & Jenny Paroz with 147.
Thanks to Jenny Graham for supplying a warm lunch on the way around, it was much appreciated.
The first round of the Men's Pairs Matchplay will be played this Saturday, players don't forget to check you timeslot. Good luck to all players. The rest of the field on Saturday will play a Single Stableford.

Today was the Final of the Ladies Midweek Single Matchplay between Cheryl Sternberg & Flo Lee.
Congratulations to both ladies for making the Final, well done!
Today was Cheryl's day with her defeating Flo 6/5 on the 13th Hole.
The balance of the field played a Single Stroke for Shirley Hulett's trophies. Thank you Shirley for your support. The winner of the Single Stroke event was Jan Sippel with 71 on a c/b from Dot Manteufel, also with 71.

Today we played our 36 Hole Mixed Foursomes in sunny, warm weather, a great day for golf unlike some previous years.
Congratulations to Jonathan Haddrell & Cheryl Sternberg who took out the Gross Winners trophy again. Jonathan and Cheryl have been the Gross winners in 2016, 2020, 2021, 2023 & 2025, a wonderful achievement, and now again in 2026.
Gross Runners Up were Lail Emmerson-Smale & Chris Smale 170.
Our Nett Winners today were Colin Potter & Chris Scheiwe with a score of 149, closely followed by Steve Luck & Judy Logan with 150.

Yesterday the ladies farewelled one of our members, Julie Murray.
Julie has been a strong supporter of Laidley Golf Club since she and her husband, Harold, moved to the district about eight years ago.
Julie and Harold have decided to move to the Sunshine coast, closer to family. We wish them well and thank them for all their support over the years. To mark Julie's last day with us, and her birthday, the ladies marked the occasion with a lovely sit-down lunch after a morning of golf, supplied by our wonderful staff member, Jenny Graham. Thank you for all your work Jenny, we all appreciated it.
