💚⚽🍀 ROUND 11 IS HERE! 🍀⚽💚

The alarm clock probably lost today’s battle, but football waits for no one!

It’s one of those classic winter mornings where the sun is still negotiating its contract, the breath is visible, and every player looks like they’re warming up for a World Cup match somewhere in the Arctic Circle.

We’ve got another massive weekend of football ahead with teams flying the green and white right across the competition. The canteen is firing, the BBQ is ready to roll thanks to our legends at Ribs and Roast The Outlet, and there’s no better place to be than on the sidelines supporting your Rovers family.

A few quick reminders:

👉 Dribl is your source of truth for all match updates.
👉 Keep the sideline positive and encouraging.
👉 Respect all referees and match officials.
👉 Support our Cadet Referees as they continue learning the game.

Whether you’re pulling on the boots, coaching from the technical area, volunteering behind the scenes, or cheering from the sideline wrapped in three layers and a beanie, bring the energy, bring the positivity, and bring that famous Rovers spirit.

💚⚽ RECOVERY IS PART OF THE GAME ⚽💚

Every footballer loves a comeback story, but the smartest comebacks aren’t written in a hurry.

One of our awesome 2026 sponsors, One Stop Rehab, is shining a light on a reality many players face. Just because the limp is gone and confidence is back, doesn’t always mean your body is ready for full-time football.

The road back from an ACL injury isn’t measured by weeks on a calendar. It’s built through strength, control, testing, hard work and patience.

Whether you’re chasing your first game back or your next big season, trust the process and make sure your body is as ready as your mind.

A huge thanks to the team at One Stop Rehab for helping keep our Rovers players fit, healthy and on the pitch. 💚🍀

U7 Owls:

Owl Fortress – Defence on Lockdown.

The U7 Owls faced a fast and fearless opponent this week, but instead of backing down… they dug in and turned it into a proper contest!

From the first whistle, it was high tempo, end-to-end action. The opposition came flying in, but the Owls weren’t about to let them have it all their own way.

What followed?

Strong kicks clearing danger like emergency exits, Diabolical defence shutting things down at every turn, Pleasing passes linking up play across the field and Teamwork that had everyone backing each other all game long.!

It was one of those matches where effort was everywhere… players chasing, tackling, passing and never giving up, no matter what was thrown at them.

And leading the defensive charge…

ILENA – our John Jordan Player of the Match.
Flawless at the back, turning into a full-on brick wall. Nothing getting past, no shortcuts taken… just strong, confident defending all game long.

Tough game, great effort, and a team that keeps showing heart every single week.

The U7 Owls team are proudly sponsored by Ribs and Roast The Outlet.

U13 Boys Div 3:

More Than a Scoreline – Courage Under Fire.

A Saturday showdown at Hickey’s Park saw the U13 Boys Div 3 take on the top-of-the-table Glenmore Park… a tough ask on paper, and even tougher with numbers stretched over the long weekend.

But what unfolded?
Something far bigger than a scoreboard.

With a few players missing, the Rovers called on some young guns from the U12s to step up… and step up they did. Even still playing short, the boys flipped the script mentally and came out ready to compete.

At the back, Jacob held the line like a seasoned general. Communication strong, positioning sharp… leading the defence with real presence.

Between the sticks, Cooper put his hand up despite carrying a painful knee. And what a shift he put in… big saves, brave moments, and absolute commitment to the team. Eventually retiring at halftime, but not before leaving everything out there. That’s heart. That’s team-first mentality.

Through the middle and up top, Isaac, Blake, Ben and Mason showed flashes of real quality… courage on the ball, willingness to take players on, and moments that reminded everyone what this group is building towards.

And while Glenmore Park showed their class on the scoreboard…

They also showed their class in spirit, reducing numbers in the second half to match Rovers. That’s respect. That’s football done right.

Full-time: Glenmore Park 12 – Rovers 0.

But here’s the truth…

The scoreboard didn’t define this game.

Courage.
Communication.
Commitment.

That’s where Rovers won.

A huge shoutout to Cooper, our John Jordan Player of the Match. For bravery, determination and putting the team first in every moment.

This group is learning, growing, and building something strong.

And days like this? They matter more than any result.

U13 Boys Div 1:

Bridge Battle – Brave Hearts & Breakfast Tank Empty.

With just 11 warriors on deck, the U13 Boys Div 1 crossed the mighty Nepean River knowing this one was going to be a proper test… no subs, no shortcuts, just grit.

Early on, the tactical switch paid off like a coach hitting the perfect button on the PlayStation.
Structure tightened, movement flowed, and suddenly Rovers were slicing through the opposition with smooth attacking play. Passes linking, runs timed to perfection… and before you knew it, the boys had built a 3–1 halftime lead.

Everything was clicking.

Then came the second half… and the breakfast reserves started to run a little low.

With no bench to rotate and legs starting to feel it, the game turned into a real test of character. The opposition pushed, chances came, and the scoreboard slowly crept back level.

But here’s the thing…

The boys didn’t fold.

They dug deep, stood tall, and fought for every ball like a team that refused to let the game slip away. Tackles, clearances, and pure determination saw them hold on for a well-earned draw.

Full-time: 3–3.

A performance full of courage, smart football and resilience.

A big shoutout to John, our John Jordan Player of the Match.
Unanimous decision… which tells you everything you need to know. Effort, impact and leadership all wrapped into one top performance.

No subs, no problem.
Just heart, hustle and a team that refuses to quit.

The U13 Boys Div 1 team are proudly sponsored by Oliveo Masonry.
