Round 4 of the RPR Contracting Perth T20 Winter League is this Saturday! Up against the in-form powerhouse, Helena Valley, we will need to bring our best game to knock off the ladder leaders!

The Karrinyup Cricket Club AGM will be held on the 10 June 2026 at 7PM (doors open at 6:30 PM). Food and beverages provided.

Volunteers are crucial to the club and all members can make valuable contributions to the functioning of our Club.
All committee positions will be declared vacant and voted on, if you'd like to nominate for a committee or non-committee position, your nomination may be submitted to the Secretary ([email protected]). These positions will be elected on the night.

The agenda includes reports from the previous season and the NSCCA, role elections, and member discussion about the upcoming season.

ROUND 3 RESULTS ❌️
We won the toss and elected to bat first. Wickets fell often despite fighting efforts from Dick and both Matts but it was our debutant, Ray Lam, who showed some power-hitting making 21 off 15 balls including 2 sixes! We managed to scrape our way to 108 off our 20 overs.
The Royal Ringins top order showed class and patience all making double figures at roughly a run a ball. Our bowlers continued our accurate bowling however it wasn't enough to restrict the opposition as they reached 4/109 from the last ball of the 19th over. Karthik and Mossy were the only wicket takers taking 2 wickets each.
A low scoring thriller with an unfortunate result however Ray stole the show in our batting innings and our bowlers continued the run of minimal sundries bowling only 3 wides from 19 overs! Let's reset and bring on the next game! 💪🏼

ROUND 2 RESULTS ✅️

Sent in to bat by Ballajura Landsdale 2, Karrinyup Kraken posted a modest yet competitive total of 9/113 from 20 overs. The innings was anchored by a resilient half-century from Dick Neervoort, who hit 52 off 39 balls, decorated with 5 fours and 3 sixes! He was accompanied by only one other passing double figures, Adi with 10 off 17.

It wouldn't be a winter classic against Ballajura Landsdale if it didn't go down to the last moment! Our bowlers bowled economically and despite Ballajura Landsdale being 4/77 off 13.2 overs, a Mossy special saw them lose 4 for 5 in 2.2 overs including a maiden! With 32 to get from the last 4 overs, our bowlers restricted them to 22 securing the win!

It's not often you see clear, standout performances but Dick Neervoort's defiant 52(39) laid the foundation of our innings, proving invaluable in a low-scoring affair. Finally, to stop them in their tracks, Aaron Moss bowled a destructive spell of 4/12 from 4 overs, particularly his maiden in the 13th over and 3 wickets in the 15th over, swung the momentum decisively in the Kraken's favour!

Good to be on the board! Let's run it back next week! 💪🏼

The NSCCA awards night on Saturday saw only one award winner, Duncan Lodge aka Homer aka Lodgey as well as the collection of 3 flags!

Lodgey was all class in I Grade this year consistently being in the runs and teaching our youngsters what old school 2 day cricket looks like! (Even in one day games!) 😉
In all seriousness, his experience and batting form got our I Graders to both of this year's grand finals!

Round 1 Results ❌️

We won the toss and elected to bowl first. Balga got off to a strong start getting to 2-110 off 12.4 overs before we did well to peg them back to 8-147 from their 20 overs! Mohit (3/30 off 4) and Alex (2/14 off 3) the pick of the bowlers with Pierre also bowling commendably with 1/25 off 4 as Balga were piling on runs!
A few early wickets made the chase a struggle as Ruan (31 off 27) and Matt (21 off 28) were the only two to show fight against Balga's bowling!

While the loss was a little one sided, a small win was that we bowled less sundries with only 10 being bowled from our 20 overs! Let's get ready and bring on the next game! 💪🏼

Vale Steve Langford 🕊️

It’s with great sadness that we share the passing of Steve Langford, a KCC member who joined our club in 2003 and played for 10 years!

Steve was a crucial part of the committee from 2007-2013 including the last four years as Treasurer! His time on the committee was a big turning point in the Club's history as it saw a long-standing president stand down and allow a new era to move forward!

On-field, Steve was an all-rounder proving to be handy with bat and ball! His last game for Karrinyup was against Coolbinia with Karrinyup 9 down for around 100, the last partnership needed a hero. Enter Steve Langford who together with ex-Karrinyup player, Peter Roberts brought the team to 179 with Steve bringing up 50 from #11 in his last game for the club and ultimately winning us the game!

Our thoughts are with Steve’s family and friends 💙🤍
