Meet Chris.

Chris moved to Australia from South Africa in 2019 and has been chasing the dream of catching a Murray cod ever since. He booked a trip with us to finally tick it off the bucket list, and it didn’t take long 😍.

Just 20 minutes into the session, we'd already had two quality fish follow right back to the boat, then the third one absolutely inhaled the fly.

What followed was the ride he'd been waiting for.

A dream Murray cod, an unforgettable fight, and one very happy angler. This is what it's all about, getting PB's and catching 113's 🤙

This informative and entertaining night will feature a lineup of passionate anglers, guides, lure makers, and freshwater fishing specialists sharing their knowledge, experiences, and stories from the water.

Topics covered throughout the evening will include native fish behaviour, river systems, lure selection, sonar and live imaging technology, seasonal tactics, fish conservation and much more.

Our guest speakers bring a wealth of experience from guiding, lure design, electronics, and freshwater fishing.

Whether you're new to fishing or a seasoned angler, this is a great opportunity to learn from some of Australia's leading freshwater fishing personalities, ask questions, meet fellow fishos and pick up new ideas for your next trip on the water.

Sometimes the best trips come together at the last minute 😁

A call from the Riverdream Boatel owners here in Mildura had me squeezing in a 3-hour morning cod session for a couple of holidaymakers from Darwin, NT determined to tick Murray cod off their bucket list.

We picked them up straight from their houseboat and were casting within minutes, with several opportunities at big cod slipping through our fingers. But with about 40 minutes left in the session, persistence finally paid off and we landed a well earned Murray cod.

While it wasn't the metery, it was close enough to leave the crew smiling and eager for more. Before we even got back to the boat, they were asking if I had another spare session available. A few days later, thanks to Marika juggling the family schedule, we made it happen. This time I picked them up from a completely different stretch of river as they continued their houseboat adventure.

The decision paid off.

Halfway through the 3 hour session, one of the boys connected to the fish they'd been dreaming about. After an epic battle, their first metre plus Murray cod hit the net and stretched the brag mat to 108cm! An unforgettable capture and a true bucket list fish.

As if that wasn't enough, on the way home they confessed they'd gone shopping the night before and purchased an Garmin 8416 and LVS34 after seeing my electronics setup in action 😍.

Thanks again boys, for the great company and enthusiasm. It's always rewarding helping people achieve their Murray cod goals and creating memories that will last a lifetime. 🎣🐟

I've had a few people messaging me about the setup lately, so I thought I'd do a quick rundown and also say a massive thank you to the businesses that have helped make it happen.

Up front, I'm running a Lowrance unit with ActiveTarget 2 alongside a Garmin Marine screen with an LVS34 transducer. Both systems are powered by a brand new Enerdrive battery setup, fitted by Thomas Forbes and supplied by Mallee 4x4.

One of the things I love about running both systems is that clients get a genuine, firsthand look at what modern live sonar technology can offer. I've had plenty of bookings from anglers looking at purchasing these units themselves, and there's no better way to understand the technology than seeing it work in real time on fish and structure.

The boat is also fitted out with a full Gfab engineering setup, including mounts, cup holders, thumbscrews, dual mount plates and transducer bracket and pole. The quality and reliability of the gear have been outstanding.

Putting together a setup like this is a significant investment, but when you're spending long days on the water chasing big Murray cod, having equipment you can trust makes all the difference.

I'm incredibly grateful for the support from everyone involved and for the continued support from clients who choose to spend a day on the water with me. Being able to showcase quality Australian businesses and products while helping people learn and catch fish is something I'm really proud of.

Spent an epic 3 hours on the water with local legend and talented photographer David Sickerdick - Photo / Film / Communications, capturing the full Wildcast Adventures experience! We hooked onto a nice cod on film (thank god) and snapped some unreal morning shots along the way.

An awesome 2hour before-school, before-work session with Ben and his two sons 🎣

We hit the water at 6:40am and by 6:48am we already had one of the boys holding a new PB Murray cod measuring 90cm. What a way to start the day! It didn't take long for his brother to smash his own personal best as well, landing a cracking cod shortly after.

Both fish were caught on a Darkside Fly and a Spinwright Elite Fluffball, proving once again that quality gear gets the bites. Seeing young anglers achieve their PBs and create memories like these is what it's all about.

For people who are asking, June is fully booked, July is filling fast, and August has availability (for now). I am doing morning tours on a Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

TRIPLE METERY DAY!

Never thought I'd be saying those words, especially in the Murray.

This 118 beast smashed the Spinwright Lures elite fluff ball and put on a battle to remember.

With winter now upon us, the fish are feeding hard and packing on condition. It's one of the best times of year to be on the water, and the results are speaking for themselves.

Did a 2 hour sounder session with local legend Bradley Healy. We ran through the Garmin settings, talked about what settings to use and when, adjusted the transducer angle, then switched focus to chasing Murray cod.

We covered what to look for and when, how to cast at different fish depending on their behaviour, and the types of habitat to target throughout the day. After all that, we put it into practice and landed 2 cracking Murray cod on the Darkside flies, going mid 90’s and 80’s!

Safe to say Brad couldn’t be happier! 🎣

Went out on a tour with a couple of local lads and managed to get onto a few quality fish. We landed one cod on a Spinwright Lures elite fluffball with another couple of heartbreaking missed opportunities on the that easily could’ve made the session even better! 😍

Here’s what they had to say afterwards:

“Braeden picked us up from a local boat ramp that was convenient and easy for us. We then fished 3 different spots and saw large Murray cod at each one. We had multiple fish follow our lures throughout the morning and managed to land an 84cm cod. We learnt heaps about targeting big Murray cod using the LiveScope technology. Braeden was very passionate and knowledgeable and we would highly recommend it for a great morning out on the river. After fishing for many years, and catching my PB cod with Braeden, I couldn’t be happier".
