🌄 Anxiety Doesn’t Define You — It Drives You to Your Best Self
Yesterday, I conquered something powerful. I rode up Mt Glorious, marking my second mountain ride since an intense experience of anxiety on the bike. About six months ago, on a ride with my sister, I faced a panic attack so severe that I almost lost vision and felt close to vomiting — my body reacting in ways I’d never experienced before, especially on a bike. That day, my confidence was shaken, but my love for riding was stronger.
I wasn’t about to let anxiety dictate my future or rob me of the joy I feel on two wheels. So, I took a step forward and tried hypnotherapy, determined to change my mindset. And yesterday? Yesterday, I had my most exhilarating, comfortable ride yet! I leaned into corners with my whole heart, feeling the flow like never before. By the time I reached the top, I couldn’t stop smiling, utterly energised by every twist, every turn.
Here’s what I’ve learned: you are not your emotions, nor are you what you feel in a single moment. Anxiety might try to limit you, but it can also give you the strength to push through and the drive to achieve things you never imagined. Each step toward a goal, no matter how small, rewrites what’s possible. So, don’t let one experience hold you back; if you want something, keep going. Trust that each ride, each effort, each leap out of your comfort zone brings you closer to the life you want.
Happy Monday, everyone. Whatever you’re aiming for, let nothing stop you. Keep riding forward. 🏍💪✨
