There are no classes today due to the King's Birthday Long Weekend public holiday.

We hope everyone is enjoying the extra day to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends.

As another grading comes to an end, we're reminded that martial arts is about so much more than belts and badges.

It's about respect.
It's about discipline.
It's about resilience.
It's about having the courage to keep learning.

This week we saw students of all ages step forward, challenge themselves, and demonstrate the skills they've been working hard to develop.

Because just remember, every black belt started exactly where you are now.

A huge well done to everyone who earned a new belt in Little Ninjas, or a new badge in Muay Thai.

While the new belts and badges are exciting, what they really represent is the hard work, dedication, perseverance, and growth that has happened on the mats over many weeks and months.

Every class attended, every skill practiced, every challenge faced, and every step outside of your comfort zone has led to this achievement.

We can't wait to see where your martial arts journey takes you next.

With the beautiful rain we’ve received, winter is definitely starting to settle in!

Instead of hibernating on the couch, why not warm up with a class at the dojo?

Martial arts is a great way to stay active, build energy, and keep both the body and mind moving through the colder months. There’s nothing quite like that post-training feeling.
Warm, accomplished, and full of endorphins.

We can almost guarantee you’ll feel better after class than you would staying rugged up at home 😉

Preparation creates confidence.

Just like a marathon or grand final, grading success isn’t built on the night.
It’s built in the training sessions beforehand.

This week our students are sharpening their kata, building focus, discipline and confidence as they prepare for next week’s grading.

Today marks 10 years since we first opened the doors to our dojo.

10 years of classes.
10 years of students.
10 years of growth, lessons, challenges, friendships, and community.

And honestly, what a journey it has been.

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve found ourselves reflecting on just how many people have been part of this story. From students past and present, to families, instructors, supporters, and the wider martial arts community — this milestone belongs to all of you too.

We are incredibly proud of the dojo we’ve built together over the past decade and so grateful for every single person who has stepped onto our mats along the way.

One thing that has always mattered deeply to us is creating a place where people feel welcome.

An open door.

Because life changes. Circumstances change. People move through different seasons.

And whether you trained with us years ago, are currently training, or have always thought about giving martial arts a try, our door is always open.

Always.

We would love to continue seeing our dojo grow and remain a positive and important part of our community for many years to come.

And as for where the next 10 years will take us…....... who knows!

But we’re incredibly grateful to still be here, doing what we love, surrounded by such an amazing community.

It’s funny to think that this entire journey started with something so simple.

A dad wanting to spend time with his son.

Many years ago, Steve first stepped into martial arts because of our son. What started as a father-and-son activity quickly became something much bigger. A genuine passion for martial arts, teaching, and building community.

And somehow, all these years later, here we are reflecting on 10 years of our dojo.

Our kids have grown up around the mats.

They’ve trained beside us, helped out behind the scenes, celebrated milestones, supported classes, and been such a huge part of this journey from the very beginning.

When we look back through old photos, it’s hard not to feel emotional seeing just how much life has happened within these walls.

The belts earned.
The friendships formed.
The lessons learned.
The people we’ve become along the way.

Martial arts has given our family so much more than we ever expected when this all began.

And as we celebrate this milestone, we feel incredibly grateful not only for the dojo we’ve built, but for the memories we’ve created together as a family along the way 💕

As we celebrate 10 years of our dojo, one thing keeps coming back to us over and over again, and that's the people.

Every single student who has stepped onto our mats over the past decade has helped shape our dojo into what it is today.

Some journeys lasted a few months.
Some have spanned many years.
And some students are still standing beside us today, 10 years on.

But no matter how long their chapter was, every single person has mattered.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your martial arts journey.
Thank you for allowing us to teach, guide, encourage, and grow alongside you.

Because the truth is, our students have taught us just as much as we could ever teach them.
They’ve helped us understand the kind of environment we wanted to create.

One built on respect, encouragement, patience, growth, and support.
A place where people could simply come as they are.

Where confidence could be built over time.
Where challenges could be worked through safely.
Where people felt seen, valued, and welcomed at every stage of their journey.

That has always mattered deeply to us.

So to every past and present student — thank you.

You have all played a part in creating the dojo and community we are so proud of today 🙏🥋🥊
