Chairpersonβs Message β Round Seven
Dear Clubs, Volunteers, and Members of the Group 9 Junior Rugby League,
Welcome back after the long weekend. I hope everyone had a good break and enjoyed the opportunity to recharge before we head into Round 7 and the second half of the season.
As we enter the second half of the year, NSWRL has brought a few compliances matters to the attention of Group 9. It is important that all clubs continue to work together to ensure these requirements are followed correctly across every ground and every age group.
A key reminder is that team sheets must be signed by the players themselves where required, not completed by one person on behalf of the team. This is an important compliance requirement, and clubs are asked to make sure the process is managed properly each week.
There are also important reminders around player welfare and concussion management:
β’ Please ensure all First Aid Officers are aware of the current concussion policies and understand their responsibilities on game day.
β’ If a player suffers a suspected or confirmed concussion, clubs must make sure the parents or guardians are clearly informed of the requirements that must be completed before their child can return to play.
β’ Please continue to ensure all required game-day roles are in place prior to kick-off, including a Ground Manager, First Aider, and League Safe Officer.
β’ The League Safe Officer must not be the coach or assistant coach, as this role must remain independent and focused on player welfare.
β’ Any play up player must have the correct paperwork completed and signed off by NSWRL before they are permitted to play.
These requirements are in place to protect our players, support our volunteers, and ensure our competition continues to be delivered safely and fairly. Your continued cooperation and attention to detail is appreciated.
As always, I would like to remind everyone players, coaches, parents, and spectators to continue showing respect to our referees and volunteers. They are an essential part of our competition, and without their commitment, our game simply could not operate.
Thank you again for your ongoing support of Group 9 Junior Rugby League. I wish all teams the very best for the coming rounds and look forward to another strong weekend of Junior Rugby league.
Kind Regards,
Pat OβToole
