Strength training during pregnancy (when approved by your healthcare team) can be one of the best things you do for yourself.

It can help support your changing body, maintain strength, improve posture, reduce aches and pains, and prepare you for the physical demands of birth and motherhood. 👏🏼🤰

At VP Fit, we understand that every pregnancy journey is different. That’s why our coaches have completed pre and postnatal training, giving them the knowledge to modify exercises, adjust intensity, and help you continue training safely and confidently throughout each trimester.

The most important thing? Listen to your body.

Some days you’ll feel capable of more, some days you’ll need to pull things back, and both are perfectly okay. Pregnancy isn’t the time to prove how tough you are; it’s a time to move well, stay strong, and support your body through a pretty incredible journey.

Strong through pregnancy. Strong for everything that comes after. ❤️

Good mental health and movement go hand in hand 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽

This week is Men’s Mental Health Week, and it’s a reminder that training is about a lot more than building muscle or chasing PBs.

Sure, we want our fellas fit, strong, and healthy, but what we really love is what happens around the training 🍻😆

The banter between sets. Rallying around each other get that last rep. Slinging $hit about who got up in the footy on the weekend. The chats before class, and the check-ins that happen without anyone even realising it.

That’s the stuff that makes this place special 🙌🏻

At VP, we’re here for the good days, the bad days, the wins, the setbacks, and everything in between.

Move your body 🏋🏻 Check in on your mates. Ask for help when you need it

And remember, you’re never training alone 👯🏻‍♂️

Deadlifts 🤝🏼

We love them, but we also understand them.

Most people should deadlift… but not everyone should deadlift the same way.

A lot of people walk through our doors saying “deadlifts are bad for my back” when the reality is they’ve just never been taught how to properly load or execute the movement.

Done well, deadlifts teach you how to safely pick things up, stay strong under pressure, and move through everyday life without breaking down.

Picking up your kids.
Carrying groceries.
Moving furniture.
Staying resilient as you age.

That’s real strength.

At VP, we understand who should and who shouldn’t, and how to coach the people in between 👊🏼

.northcoogee 🤝🏼 Upper Body Day

If you’ve done one of our strength sessions before, you’ll know we don’t just throw a few movements together and hope for the best 😑

Main lifts paired with accessory work that’s programmed with purpose across 10–12 week cycles designed to actually drive progress 🙌🏻

Less focus on “how much can we do?”
More focus on “how well can we do it?” 👊🏼

.teneka making Matty “feel the steel” 🤣

Slightly concerning how much joy Teneka gets out of folding grown men into pretzel positions and marching them straight into the pain cave 🫣

Lucky for everyone involved she’s extremely good at what she does 🤝🏼

“Ronda Rousey” has assured us she’s much gentler with her actual patients, so don’t let this footage scare you off 😅

But FFS leave the fishing to Rex Hunt T 🎣

Motivation is unreliable.
Discipline is what gets you through the doors when it’s cold, early and miserable 😅

The problem is… discipline is hard to build in an environment you don’t enjoy being in.

That’s why at VP we’ve always believed results come easier when you actually ENJOY turning up 😉

Good programming.
Good people.
Good banter.
Coaches that give a s**t.
An environment that makes training feel less like a chore and more like part of your routine 🤝🏼

Because the truth is…
You’re not always going to feel motivated.

But if you enjoy where you train, who you train with, and how you feel after it…
Showing up becomes a whole lot easier 👊🏼

You heard it here first… the way you start your day does in-fact, MATTER 🤷🏻‍♂️

We see our members transform into energised humans ready to tackle the day after our classes.

You know it yourself too, rolling out of bed and moving straight into your day never makes you feel as good as a day started with a session at VP.

So, next time you’re thinking about snoozing the alarm for an extra hour of shut eye, don’t 👏🏼

18/05/2026

You’re only as strong as your weakest link… and if your grip is giving out before your posterior chain, then you won’t be achieving the necessary stimulus to help you progress 🙅🏼‍♂️

Straps aren’t “cheating” they’re a tool.
A tool that lets you load the movement properly, hit the target muscles harder, and stop your fatiguing forearms from hijacking the lift 😩

Don’t stress… we still build grip strength naturally through plenty of other lifts.
But if your grip is the thing holding your progress back, stop letting your ego make the rules and chuck the straps on 👊🏻

06/05/2026

Depth isn’t just “how low can you go”… it’s how you get there 👏🏼

Big one we see on the floor at VP is overarching through the lower back. This tilts the pelvis forward (anterior tilt) and leads to unnecessary stress through the lower back 🫣

So not only not only are you risking injury, it’s actually harder to hit depth.

So if you find squatting causing dramas in the lower back… make sure you’re 👇🏻
Breathing and bracing properly ✅
Ribs down, pelvis neutral ✅
Stay stacked and let the load go through the hips and legs ✅

Or come and see us and we will walk you through it 😉

Better positions = better results 🤜🏼🤛🏼

04/05/2026

If you’ve ever done a session at VP, you’d know we’re big on “enjoying the process”🤣 while getting the work done 🤜🏼🤛🏻

Training doesn’t have to feel like a chore. If you’re dreading it every day, no amount of discipline will save you long term.

Find a place where you can train hard and enjoy it. Where there’s a bit of banter between sets (and sometimes during 😅), and you’re looking forward to walking through the doors.

Because at the end of the day… it really isn’t that serious 🤷🏻‍♂️

…when we say find a gym, we mean us 😉
