ROUND 18 & WOMEN’S ELIMINATION FINAL REVIEW 💙💛
A huge weekend for the Cobras, with our men travelling to Quinns for the final round of the home and away season, while our Women hosted Kalamunda in an Elimination Final at the Snakepit as part of our Cockburn Community & Family Day.
It was a tough finish for the men, with all sides going down to Quinns. The Reserves entered the round with finals hopes still alive but unfortunately narrowly missed out. There is still plenty to take away from our first year in C1, with both our League and Reserves finishing 6th on the ladder.
With the men’s season complete, a huge thank you to all our coaches, support staff, volunteers, players and everyone behind the scenes for their contribution throughout the year.
Round 18 also brought our Colts season to a close. It was fantastic to have Colts back at the Cobras for the first time since 2022. A huge thank you to our coaches, support staff and everyone involved in getting the side back on the park, along with the junior players from Kardinya and South Coogee who helped throughout the year. We look forward to continuing to grow the program in 2027.
Back at the Snakepit, our Women faced Kalamunda in a thrilling Elimination Final. In a tight contest all day, skipper Rianna Matulin kicked the winning goal with only minutes remaining. Kalamunda then received a free kick and had a shot after the siren to draw the game, only for the kick to miss as the Cobras held on for a one-goal victory!
The girls now progress to the Semi Final against Kingsway this weekend.
Our Elimination Final was made even more special by our Cockburn Community & Family Day. Thank you to everyone who came down, supported the girls and helped make it a fantastic day at the Snakepit.
Next stop – Semi Final v Kingsway! 💙💛
