Busy weekend with all of the girls away for some sort of makeover at Murphy's Creek Hospital Bar and Grill. #95 is in for a total makeover, #17 is in for bypass surgery and Bluey is having long awaited cosmetic surgery. All of them are in the safe hands of Dr Benny who will perform all these delicate surgeries in time for next Season. After all their surgeries are completed, I believe they want to go shopping for new outfits to wear 🤷 😁 🏁

Race recap of final round of Queensland Microsprint Series held at River 94.9 Lockyer Valley Speedway .
(Pleasure and pain)

Pleasure:
We had the privilege of having Jett Johnson steer the #17 Micro in his debut on dirt. He hit the track like a duck to water with increasing speed on every lap. His analytical mind was working overtime working out how to get the most speed out of the 17 machine on an ever changing track. I don't think I've seen a bigger smile on anyone's face every time he came back to the pits after a race, lucky he had a full face helmet on, otherwise he would have eaten some dirt 😄 An awesome debut from an awesome talent that anyone would be thrilled to have on their team. If he heads down the "Dirt" road, anything is possible for this young man. Thankyou Jett, it has been a privilege 🤙
Pain:
On the other side of the garage I wheeled the #95 rocket out for the first 2 heats with Joshua Baker to do heat 3 and the Feature race. Heats 1 & 2 went according to plan with me getting a feel for the car and going quicker with every lap. Heat 3 wasn't so kind to Josh, while in a mid pack battle for position, Harley's front end was clipped by another car which caused a breakage in his steering which turned him infield just as Josh was making a move up the inside. With no time to manoeuvre, the 95 machine road up over the rear wheel of car 65 and headed skywards, a frightening number of barrel rolls ensued with Josh "sticking" the landing coming back to earth on 4 wheels, (although pointing in different directions). Thankfully money spent on the best safety gear did it's job and he exited the car relatively unscathed. The same thing can't be said for 95 that is still in intensive care at Murphy's Creek Hospital Bar and Grill.
So an eventful night was had, thankyou to all the Crew, helpers and first attendants on the night.

The iconic Johnson racing dynasty has officially added a brand new surface to its historic resume and it all unfolded in the raw, heartbeat environment of grassroots speedway.

While walking the pits at Lockyer Valley Speedway in Gatton over the weekend, the NDC crew was pulled aside by the track promoter with a massive smile and a whisper: “We’ve got a special guest here tonight... Jett Johnson.” Talk about being in the absolute right place at the right time. Stepping miles away from his traditional, structured asphalt office, the third-generation racer and Super2 prospect strapped into the high-powered No. Q17 BAKER Racing Microsprint to make his highly anticipated speedway dirt debut. The legendary Johnson name has conquered Mount Panorama and dominated national V8 circuit racing for decades, but seeing the youngest star of the family pitch a light, screaming open-wheel monster completely sideways on a shifting clay oval marks the beginning of a beautiful new era.

It was no easy Sunday drive for Johnson’s first time on the clay. He was thrown straight into the deep end of pure speedway competition, going wheel-to-wheel in an electrifying battle against established Queensland Sprintcar star LIbby's Racing Ellis, who was piloting the No. Q46 machine.

Wrestling a flighty Microsprint against seasoned dirt track specialists provided the ultimate school for reflex, adaptation and raw instinct. When asked about his motivation for tackling the unforgiving dirt oval and stripping away the corporate polish of circuit racing, the third generation star kept it beautifully grounded and full of heart.

“You got to support Grassroots and have FUN,” Jett Johnson.
