"Representing the Queensland Country Colts is one of the most special and important achievements for myself as a player. The organisation and opportunity given to all of us boys to be able to get together and represent Qld's regional and rural rugby playing areas is pretty unreal and is a great reward for our work for our club and district teams. I don't think there's another team like it, it's not often you get blokes from Gatton playing with blokes from Townsville in the one rugby team for the one objective of beating your equivalents down south. Congratulations to Gatton Black Pigs RUFC A grade for securing their first finals' appearance since 2013!! The boys hung tough, playing most of the second half with 14, coming away deserved winners against an injury ravaged Roma Echidnas. Final score: 28-5.

Best of luck to all the teams this week in their final regular season game v Dalby Wheatmen at UQ Gatton. Second place is still up for grabs for both A and C teams, so get on down to Hugh Courtney Oval to support.
