Two teams. Two events. Same day. ⛵️

Heidi Oswald and her crew are set for the final Seldén for Sailing race tomorrow at Fremantle Sailing Club while Nia Jerwood and her team will take on the fleet at East Fremantle Yacht Club. Good luck and good hunting! 😎

Big thanks to Kyle Dodds from Fujin Marine for getting out on the water today and sharing his knowledge with both teams who trained on the the Melges 24.....helping dial things in ahead of a big day of racing.

Today’s race training included Heidi, Nia, Kimbra, Robyn, Iwona, Kate, Caz, Sonja, Emma, Caitlin, Claire, Amanda and Chewy plus Scott and Gerard from our boating office. 🤩

Huge thanks to Kyle Dodds from Fujin Marine for jumping in with the race squad and sharing his rig tuning knowledge on the club Melges 24 🙌

From getting the basics right to fine-tuning for performance, it’s sessions like this that make all the difference……building confidence, skills, and speed across the fleet 💨

📣 Good news: Kyle will be back!
We’ll be running another session open to members after the summer season wraps up and before the winter inshore series kicks off. Excellent for anyone interested in learning about the Melges 24s. Watch this space for date. 👀

AWMRC 2026 returns to Freo! ⛵️

The Australian Women’s Match Racing Championship 2026 is back at Fremantle Sailing Club from 10–13 September 2026.

Four big days of sailing in Rockingham done! ⛵️😎

FSC’s women’s squad had a belter of a regatta aboard the club Melges 24. With 20+ knots on most days, racing was fast and tight. Across 12 races they had 4 x fastest, 2 x 1sts and with 2 races not completed, their overall 2nd on CBH sports boat handicap was an impressive result. All of this against top drawer competition out of TCYC……it was encouraging to see their results improving throughout the regatta.

Nele Soeker skippered the team which consisted of George Byass, Robyn Martin, Julie Meehan, Sonja Vlaar, Carolyne Bush and Miriam Everall. 😎

The OneSails sail wardrobe took a lickin but it kept on tickin. 👌

Organisation and hospitality at TCYC were as good as ever.

Gerard and the FSC Boating Office went above and beyond as they always do. 💕

Cockburn Sound Regatta Day 1 done and dusted for the RAMP team. A solid start to the regatta with 5 x ww/lw in 18kts of breeze. The team consisting of skipper Nele, Robyn, George, Julie and Sonja are looking sharp and working well together. 🙌🏽⛵️

Great to see Alice and Klara Travlos will be at FSC tonight, raising funds for their Youth Worlds campaign—an event Australia hasn’t entered a team in for a number of years.

These young women are putting in the work both on and off the water, and it’s awesome to see the community getting behind them. If you’re around, swing past, say hi, grab a raffle ticket and show your support as they chase this huge opportunity.
