Well, we hit the road to the 2026 Club Forbes Rodeo… and things got interesting pretty quickly. 🫴
First stop was Shell Forbes for fuel and Lachie Café for enough coffee to convince us we knew what we were doing. Denise Howell Mobile Hairdressing made sure we looked presentable, while Pure Love Dog Grooming took care of the only member of the crew with any real chance of winning best dressed.
The livestock were loaded with help from Rob Allen Livestock Transport and Davey Livestock Transport, with Advanced Animal Nutrition, C+S Stockfeed Supplies and Walkers AgnVet making sure they were better fed and organised than the rest of us.
Then came the first little hiccup…
A flat tyre had us calling Jelbarts Tyrepower, an electrical issue brought Grant Howell Auto Electrical into the mix, and Central West Tilt n Tow was placed firmly on standby. Forbes Bus Lines offered us a lift, but we were determined to arrive with at least some dignity intact.
Knights Cranes and Fabrication lifted what needed lifting, Metal Craft fixed what needed fixing, and Powertools Plus handed us the tools so we could stand nearby and look helpful.
By the time we reached the MEC, LMF Earthmoving, SME and Matt Bull Concreting had the heavy work covered. Dirt Dr’s Landscape Supplies and Flemings Property Services had everything looking sharp, while Constable Hays Supplies somehow had exactly what everyone else had forgotten. (The hay.. duh)
Karaitiana Event Hire rolled in with the event gear, AUSCO Modular brought the buildings, Coates Hire Parkes backed the pickup team, and AAA Septic Services quietly handled the job nobody else was volunteering for.
Then Luxe Event Suites arrived with premium toilets for the VIP area, because apparently even doing your business gets the luxury treatment at Forbes Rodeo. đźš˝
Webz Electrical kept the action powered, SME made sure we wouldn’t miss a replay, and KMWL, Kevin Miller, Whitty Lennon & Co, checked the numbers after we’d spent the budget three times over.
Forbes Livestock Agency kept an eye on the stock, Forbes Scrap Metal claimed anything left over, G3 Partnership helped pull the whole operation together, and Fat Artz Eugowra made sure it all looked good while we were doing it.
Finally, Club Forbes welcomed us in and reminded us exactly why this event is possible in the first place.
It might take a village to raise a child, but apparently, it takes an entire Central West community to put on a rodeo.
A huge thank you to every sponsor helping bring the 2026 Club Forbes Rodeo to life. We genuinely couldn’t do it without you.
*This story is completely fictional. Our appreciation for these businesses is very real.*
