Sunraysia Safari Cross Country Rally

The 2026 Sunraysia Safari will be run from September 9-12, based in Wentworth in Outback NSW. Australia's Greatest Motorsport Adventure!

Open to Motorbikes, Quads, Cross Country and conventional Rally Cars, it's a test of speed, navigation and endurance.

We've just been contacted by some competitors to see whether we can still accept late entries to the 2026 Sunraysia Safari, as a result of the unfortunate postponement of the Flinders-Fleurieu event.

The short answer is yes, but we need to know by Monday at the latest, in order to have everything prepared in time. We can accept entries in the Outright Auto or Rally Regularity Divisions (Moto entries cannot be taken as we won't get scrolls printed in time, although if you're prepared to "Cut and Paste" like they did in the old days we can talk!) for either the full Sunraysia Safari or the two day Sunraysia Stages (held on the Friday and Saturday legs of the Safari).

The course is suitable for all types of cars and 4x4s, and Rally Regularity allows a wider range of people to experience the adventure of the Sunraysia Safari in a far more relaxed (and cost effective) manner!

Sunraysia Petroleum are fantastic supporters of the Sunraysia Safari, and have been for many years. They provide an invaluable service in supplying top quality fuels for all of our competitors and officials, that literally keep the rally moving! We also are able to access their fuel now 24/7 at the Port Pitstop Pooncarie Fuel Stop with the addition of the automated bowser system, which means we always have enough fuel make it home again no matter what time of day or night, without having to disturb Katie!

Sunraysia Petroleum have outlets locally in Buronga and Irymple, and other locations right around the region. Make sure you support them as much as they support us!

Jason Gordon and the team at Sixt Mildura are our longest serving event partners, having jumped on board when the Sunraysia Safari first started all the way back in 2017! Their ongoing support allows us to ensure that our Medical teams have access to the best possible vehicles to be able to respond to any competitors that require assistance. In all of the years they've been with us, we've never had a single issue with any of their fleet (including times we've rented vehicles for tasks other than the Safari), and their service is second to none!

As we get closer to the start of the 2026 Sunraysia Safari, it's important to acknowledge all of our corporate partners and sponsors that make it possible to run the event.

Did we mention it’s Green out here at the moment??!!

With just over 2 weeks until the Sunraysia Safari commences, we’re flat out setting up the course to have the stages ready for competition. The country has never looked better in our time in the region, and it’s set to be a brilliant adventure!

Competitors had better make sure they have their navigating glasses on, or they may need gumboots in some places……!!

Entries have now closed, but we are able to accept 2 more Moto entries, and Auto/Rally Regularity entries until the end of the week. So if you are still thinking about it, this is your last chance!

ENTRIES MUST CLOSE TODAY!

There's still a few people that are "definitely entering" that we haven't heard from, you have until tonight to get your entries in, particularly Moto Division, as the order for the scrolls needs to go in first thing tomorrow!

ZOOM ZOOM INDEED!

More exciting news today, with Mazda Australia confirming they are entering a BT-50 in the Rally Regularity Division of the 2026 Sunraysia Safari! Whilst the driver is yet to be named, they will be guided around the course by former V8 Supercar Driver Karl Reindler. The Rally Regularity Division will be fascinating; having to navigate through the course is hard enough at the best of times, but adding target times, average speed and other factors to be calculated on top makes it arguably the biggest challenge there is!

It's a fantastic endorsement of the Sunraysia Safari to see manufacturers signing up to participate, and showcase their vehicles. The BT-50 is a highly capable 4x4, and it will be great to watch the team's progress throughout the rally.

If you'd like to join Mazda, Subaru, Toby Price, and all of the other competitors in the 2026 Sunraysia Safari, entries are still open, but must close this Sunday. If you don't have a Motorbike or Rally car, the Rally Regularity Division allows for standard road cars and 4x4s to compete on the same course as the Outright Moto and Auto Divisions, so it's never been easier to get involved! One month to go!

The 2026 Sunraysia Safari is almost upon us! It's going to be arguably the most challenging course ever, given the recent rains and amount of vegetation on the ground. Navigation will be critical, and will definitely play no small part in determining the winners.

Entries must close this week, but we're still disappointingly low on entries, particularly in the Moto Division. If you haven't entered yet, for either the full Sunraysia Safari, or the 2 day Sunraysia Stages, get them in now. The new Rally Regularity division allows crews to compete in standard road registered 4x4s or cars, and even some older rally cars that may no longer be compliant with current rules. It's never been easier to get involved.

Come and join Toby Price, and some of the best Cross Country Rally competitors in the country, and experience the adventure for yourself!
