Sunday Mornings Swinging Along at Coomealla!
Things have been rolling along beautifully during the first half of Term 2 at Coomealla Golf Club, with our Junior and Women’s Golf Clinics bringing plenty of new faces, lots of laughs, and some great improvement each Sunday morning around the club.
This term, we’ve welcomed 8 juniors and 12 women into the programs, which has been fantastic to see and a really positive sign for the future of golf at Coomealla.
Led by PGA Professional Tim Walker Next Step Golf, alongside Community Instructor Catherine Eddie and the Junior and Women's Development crew, the clinics continue to offer a relaxed and welcoming place for people to learn the game, build confidence, and simply enjoy being around the club.
Across the first half of the term, participants have been working on swing basics, putting, chipping, and a few on-course skills, while also having some fun with putting comps, target games, and friendly challenges along the way.
Our juniors have been improving every week, not just with their golf, but also with their confidence and friendships around the club. It’s been great seeing some of the kids hanging around the practice areas after sessions and really starting to catch the golf bug.
The Women’s Clinic has also been a ripper, with a fantastic group of ladies enjoying the social side of golf while learning new skills in a fun and supportive environment. From complete beginners to ladies getting back into the game, the vibe each Sunday morning has been relaxed, welcoming, and full of encouragement.
One of the best things about the clinics has been the atmosphere around the club. Sunday mornings have quickly turned into a great little social catch-up, with families, volunteers, members, and participants all helping create a friendly and easy-going environment.
“It’s been fantastic seeing so many new faces around the club enjoying themselves, celebrating each other's success and getting involved each week,” said Tim Walker.
One of the best things about the clinics has been the atmosphere around the club. Sunday mornings are quickly becoming a great family day out at Coomealla, with a clinic for everyone in the family to come and enjoy — whether it’s the kids learning the game, Mum getting involved in the women’s sessions, or Dad coming along for a hit and a catch-up around the clubhouse.
Planning is already underway for our Term 3 programs, including the return of the Junior and Women’s Clinics, along with the launch of the club’s new men’s program — Mate’s Sunday Swing, Sip & Socialise.
The new men’s program is all about giving blokes a relaxed way to give golf a crack, learn a few basics, meet some mates, and enjoy the social side of the club without any pressure.
Registrations are now open for all three Term 3 programs, with limited spots available.
