The Colac Basketball Association is saddened to acknowledge the passing of Charlie Martin, a valued member of our basketball community who generously gave his time and knowledge to our Association over many years.

Charlie contributed to Colac Basketball in so many ways, often working quietly behind the scenes to make opportunities possible for others.

For many years, Charlie served as our Grants Officer, assisting with countless grant applications that helped provide funding for uniforms, participation and other initiatives across the Association. He was particularly supportive of our All Abilities program, helping secure funding that allowed players to participate in tournaments between Colac, Geelong and Werribee and ensuring basketball remained a game in which everyone could be involved.

Long before fixtures could be managed as easily as they are today, Charlie also spent countless hours putting together our domestic fixtures through SportingPulse. When our tournament commenced in 2012, Charlie again put his hand up, taking care of the tournament fixtures throughout those early years.

And his contribution certainly wasn’t limited to behind the scenes work. Charlie was a familiar face on the score bench, particularly when Ben was playing, and could regularly be found helping out during finals and CBL games.

Above all, Charlie was always willing to help wherever he could.
Much of what keeps a community sporting association running happens away from the court and often goes unseen. It relies on people who generously give their time, share their knowledge and simply put their hand up when something needs to be done. Charlie was one of those people.

We are incredibly grateful for the many years Charlie gave to Colac Basketball and for the contribution he made to our players, teams, programs and wider basketball community.

We extend our sincere condolences to Charlie’s family and friends, particularly those within our basketball community, during this very sad time.

Thank you, Charlie, for everything you gave to Colac Basketball. Your contribution will always be a part of our Association.

United For Her Clinic

Girls aged from 6-18 are invited to train, play and grow their basketball skills - from first-time players, to those building their game - alongside other female athletes!
All participants will receive a t-shirt, basketball, drink bottle,and for those aged 9+, a sports bra.

Registration closes on 28 August, with teams to be released by 18 September.

Season Starts on 6 October and runs for 10 weeks before having a break over Christmas, and resuming on 2 February and finishing on 5 March. Total season length is 15 weeks.
There are 2 weeks of finals for grades U12 and above.

Juniors $202.50 plus Basketball Victoria Fees (paid once a year)
Seniors $217.50 plus Basketball Victoria Fees (paid once a year)

PROPOSED SCHEDULE (subject to change based on registrations)
Tuesday: U12 Boys (2016 & 2017), U16 Girls (2012 & 2013), A Grade Men and Social Men
Wednesday: U14 Boys and Girls (2014 & 2015), U18 Girls (2010 & 2011) and A Grade Women
Thursday: U12 Girls (2016 & 2017), U16 Boys (2012 & 2013), U18 Boys (2010 & 2011) and Social Women
Friday: U10 Boys and Girls (2018 & 2019)

Late registrations will be considered but not guaranteed a playing position, so please ensure you register on time.
