A weekend that reminded us what being a team is really about 🖤🧡🤍

A huge weekend of comps in Melbourne for our Performance Team!

Our soloists started us off beautifully:

Then came our troupes — and a day that became about much more than results.

Our Elite 2 first routine (Jazz) was brought to an abrupt stop when Kaydence suffered a knee dislocation mid-routine. She was cared for before heading to hospital, and we are all behind her as she begins her recovery. 🧡

In an incredible show of teamwork, Bella then stepped in and learnt Kaydence’s part in our Neo in just 20 minutes. Watching the team teach her, support one another and take the stage with such composure was something special and watching how they all supported and rallied around Kaydence backstage was truly a beautiful moment. Unfortunately they were unable to continue the routine, however got a second opportunity in a different section later that day.

Our Juniors also had a HUGE day with five routines and boy did they step up! Each time they do these routines they improve. We are so proud of you all ❤️

A special thank you to Bella & Sam for everything you were able to do behind the scenes for our dancers across the weekend. You always give up your own time to help our kids and it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed🧡

But the moment I’ll remember most wasn’t a placing.

It was watching our team rally around Kaydence and her family. Dancers supporting each other when they were shaken themselves. Parents consoling and celebrating our kids. Our mums immediately springing into action to help Kaydence and her family out of the venue.

Trophies are wonderful, but things like this remind me of the bigger picture.

This community we have built together is the real win. 🖤🧡🤍

So proud of our dancers, families and team.

You might enrol them because they won’t stop dancing around the lounge room.

Or because they’ve been asking to try ballet.

Maybe because they’re shy and you’d love to see their confidence grow.

Maybe they just need somewhere that feels like theirs. 🧡

Whatever brings them through our doors, what we hope they find here goes far beyond learning steps.

We want them to find friends.

To have teachers and older dancers who know their name and are genuinely excited to see them.

To have somewhere they can be silly, work hard, get things wrong, try again and feel proud of themselves.

To walk through the doors feeling like they belong — whether they dream of becoming an incredible dancer or they simply really, really love to dance.

Because years from now, they probably won’t remember every step we taught them.

But they’ll remember how this place made them feel. 🧡

There’s something pretty special about seeing this chapter of Shae’K’It captured like this. 🧡

For so long, this studio existed as an idea in my head.

Not just the rooms, the mirrors or the wooden floors… but the kind of place I wanted people to walk into and immediately feel like they belonged.

A place to dance, absolutely.

But also a place to grow.

To find their people.
To be challenged.
To laugh.
To get things wrong.
To try again.
To discover what they’re truly capable of.

These beautiful images, captured by the incredibly talented Tash Thompson, reflect so much more than dance. They capture the friendships, the encouragement, the hard work, the joy and the community that fills these walls every single week.

Congratulations Nikita on achieving this beautiful aerial! ✨

What makes this moment particularly special is that Nikita had achieved her aerial some time ago, but somewhere along the way, she lost it.

This is something we see more often than you might think. When a skill isn’t used consistently, sometimes the physical skill begins to disappear and often, confidence goes with it. The mindset can quickly shift from “I can do this” to “I used to be able to do this… but now I can’t.”

And sometimes, finding your way back is about so much more than simply practising the skill again.

Nikita has worked to move past the doubt telling her she couldn’t and rediscover the confidence telling her she absolutely could. 💫

A huge part of that has been the safe and supportive hands of Miss Tess, who has gently and patiently guided Nikita back to this point, rebuilding the skill, but importantly, rebuilding her belief in herself too.

There is something really special about watching a teacher and student work together with trust, patience and persistence until suddenly… there it is again. 🖤🧡🤍

Well done, Nikita and Miss Tess. A beautiful achievement and an even better reminder that sometimes progress isn’t about learning something new, it’s about finding the confidence to believe in yourself again.
