‼️BEEF WEEK RACES NOT GOING AHEAD‼️

This post will come with little surprise ... tomorrow's Beef Week Cup Showcase Race Day will not be going ahead due to ongoing wet weather conditions 🌧️

We are just as disappointed as our trainers, jockeys, owners, sponsors and racegoers who were looking forward to a fantastic day on the track 🥲 The safety of participants, horses and patrons must always come first 🏇

While the thoroughbred races may be off, there is still plenty happening around town this weekend. The Casino Greyhound Racing Club will be holding a 10-card twilight meeting, and there’ll be entertainment aplenty across our local pubs and clubs 💃🕺

We thank everyone for their understanding and continued support, and we look forward to seeing you back trackside again soon 🫶

FRIDAY 29 MAY - SEE YOU TRACKSIDE 🏇🏇

After a week of weather forecasts changing more often than government policy announcements, we’ve had to make a few adjustments to race day plans.

But as recent political commentary reminds us - it’s not “changing our minds" . . . it’s simply “changing direction"😄

So while a few things may look a little different on the day, the racing, the laughs, the fashions and the good times are still charging ahead at full gallop.

Our track team has been working harder than a first-year minister in Question Time, and the course is shaping up beautifully.

Rain, shine, or strategic directional adjustment - we can’t wait to see everyone trackside Friday 29 May! 🏇🍻

🌧️ Rain, rain … nice try!

Despite the recent wet weather, the Beef Week Cup Showcase Race Day is still firmly on track to go ahead in two weeks’ time! 🐎🎉

Our track is holding up beautifully and is in peak form thanks to the hard work of our crack team, who’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes. 👏🌱

We’re looking forward to a fantastic day of racing, fashions, hospitality and community spirit - now we just need the sun to join the party! ☀️

Secretary Manager – Casino Racing Club

The Casino Racing Club is seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Secretary Manager to lead the administration and operations of our growing club. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual who is passionate about the racing industry and committed to delivering excellence in club management.

👉 Position details:
• Permanent-part time; 20 hours per week.
• Weekend availability required to facilitate race meetings. The Casino Racing Club conducts four scheduled race meetings annually.

👉 Key responsibilities:
1. Operations and Racing Management
2. Financial Management
3. Stakeholder and Community Engagement
4. People and Volunteer Management
5. Compliance and Risk Management

👉 Key Skills and Attributes
• Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Financial and business acumen.
• Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment.
• Knowledge of the racing industry (desired but not essential).
• Community-focused, proactive, and adaptable.
