Throwback Thursday ⛳

Back in 2020 we said goodbye to the old practice putting green and said hello to a new one. Thanks to our greenkeeping staff and the volunteers who pitched in, it gave us a lot more room and a few more holes to work with — which our growing membership needed.

A couple of years later the second tier went in and added a bit of spice to everyone's practice 🌱

Fast forward to now and the green's still going strong, thanks to a hardworking superintendent and his crew.

🍺 Did you know? 🍺

There's a lot more to RMCGC than just the Golf.

Our fully licensed bar is open and stocked, with plenty of snacks and nibbles to keep you going. Start with one of Amanda's locally famous homemade sandwiches, or grab something hot from our Vili's selection.

And the beer? We're told time and time again that we pour the coldest, freshest beer on tap around. We're not going to argue with that. Plus a solid range of wines, spirits and soft drinks if tap beer isn't your thing.

Comfy spot, cold drink, great view over the course. Hard to beat.

❄️ FROST POLICY

You might have seen the new frost policy posters go up over the weekend. If you haven't had a proper read yet, please do.

Unfortunately we're still seeing carts where they shouldn't be, as evidenced by the photos attached.

Doesn't matter if you're a member or a visitor, in your own cart or one of ours. We all share the course and we all have a part in looking after it.

Frost damage doesn't just bounce back either. It sits there for weeks, and our greenkeepers have enough on their plate in winter without patching up damage that didn't need to happen.

So please, have a read of the signs and take it easy out there on the cold mornings. Nobody wants to see carts pulled off the course altogether on frost days, us included.

MIXED FOURSOMES CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 🏆

14 pairs teed off today for the Mixed Foursomes Club Championship, and it turned into a cracking day of golf.

🌊 THROWBACK THURSDAY 🌊

This week we've got a weather throwback — and what a wild weekend it was!

January 2024 brought one of the biggest floods we've ever seen at RMCGC. After heavy rains pushed water down from both ADFA and Fairbairn Avenue, the dam on the 7th overflowed and turned the course into a lake. Play was obviously cancelled for the day, but club legend Mark Wright managed to snap a few pics of the chaos. 📸

⛳ New week, here's the run-down at RMCGC

Monday — Half Price Mondays. Same deal as always, half price green fees all day.
Tuesday — Women's Stableford + 9 Hole Stableford (ladies only). Socials from 3pm onwards.
Wednesday — Medley 4BBB Aggregate Stableford. Two cards count, so pick your partner wisely.
Thursday + Friday — Social golf all day, book now, however walks in accepted. Wander in whenever.
Saturday — Men's Stableford kicks off the morning, then it's Mixed Foursomes Championship time in the afternoon!! Alternate shot, shared blame. Best of luck to everyone teeing it up 🏆
Sunday — Stableford Medley wraps things up.
