🏁 HAPPY FATHER’S DAY FROM O’KEEFFE RACING 🏁

Today isn’t about lap times, trophies or chequered flags. It’s about the people who helped us become who we are. ❤️

I’m lucky enough to experience Father’s Day from both sides.

To my Dad — thank you for the years of support, the lessons, the sacrifices and for always being there. A lot of what I now try to pass onto Cooper started with what I learnt from you.

And to my little mate Cooper — being your Dad will always be the greatest title I’ll ever have. Watching you grow, especially seeing you develop the same love for racing, makes me prouder than any trophy ever could.

Three generations.
One family.
One passion.
A lifetime of memories. 🏁

Cars will change. Numbers will change. Seasons will come and go.

But the memories we make together will last long after the engines go quiet.

Happy Father’s Day to my Dad, and to every Dad, Grandad, Stepdad and father figure out there doing everything they can for their family.

🔧 OFF-SEASON MODE: ACTIVATED 🔧
Should have done this post a few weeks ago however, better late than never.

The chequered flag might have fallen on our 2025/26 season, but there’s no such thing as sitting still at O’Keeffe Racing.

After a massive run through the Thunder in the Cane Fields, it’s time to strip the #20 down and start preparing for the 2026/27 season. 🏁

The motor is coming out and heading off to the doctor for a freshen-up, while the rest of the car gets pulled apart, inspected, cleaned and rebuilt from the ground up. Every nut, bolt and component gets some attention before we put it all back together ready to go again.

And judging by the photos, the little bloke’s #23 isn’t escaping the workshop treatment either! 😂🔧

There’s plenty of work ahead, plenty of late nights in the shed and probably a few choice words along the way… but this is where next season starts.

Strip it. Check it. Rebuild it. Make it better.

The 2026/27 season starts now. 💪🏁

After five big nights of racing at Thunder in the Cane Fields, we’ve finally wrapped up an unforgettable week in Far North Queensland.

Night 4 started well with P6 in Time Trials, but unfortunately our first heat ended early after getting caught up in a crash. It would have been easy to pack it in, but our crew had other ideas. The team put in an incredible effort to repair the car in time for the second heat, and thanks to their hard work we made it back out on track to finish P2. We rolled off for the feature and came home P11.

Night 5 was another challenging night on a tricky racing surface. We qualified P7 in Time Trials before finishing P9 in the opening heat after making a couple of mistakes, although the speed in the car was definitely there. Another small mistake in Heat 2 saw us finish P6, before charging from P14 to P12 in the Feature on a track that kept everyone guessing.

When the dust settled, we finished 9th overall in the Thunder in the Cane Fields series.

While the results don’t tell the whole story, we’re leaving with plenty of positives. We found speed throughout the week, battled through adversity, learned a lot, and the crew never stopped working to give us the best car possible every time we hit the track.

A massive thank you to every sponsor, family member, crew member, and supporter who helped make this trip possible. Whether you lent a hand in the pits, followed along from home, or cheered us on at the track, we couldn’t do it without you.

Now it’s time to regroup, and get ready for the next season 🏁💪

🏁 CAIRNS SPEEDWAY WEEKEND RECAP 🏁

What a weekend it turned out to be in Cairns.

🌙 Night 1 wasn’t one we’ll remember for results, but sometimes motorsport isn’t about where you finish.

• Time Trials: P7
• Heat 1: Started P5 ➡️ Finished P7
• Heat 2: Started P5 ➡️ Finished P8
• A Main: Started P13 ➡️ Finished P14

We struggled to find confidence behind the wheel and just never really got comfortable with the car. While the results weren’t what we were chasing, we rolled it back onto the trailer in one piece with a straight race car, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need to build from.

🌙 Night 2 was a completely different story.

• Time Trials: P13
• Heat 1: Started P2 ➡️ Finished P2
• Heat 2: Started P4 ➡️ Finished P3

Those results qualified us 8th overall, earning a spot in the Bronze Shootout.

🥉 Bronze Shootout: 1st 🥇
⬆️ Advanced to the Silver Shootout

🥈 Silver Shootout: 2nd
⬆️ Advanced to the Gold Shootout

🥇 Gold Shootout: 4th
➡️ Earned P4 starting position for the A Main.

The feature race was shaping up to be one of our best of the season. After four laps of the scheduled 30-lap A Main, we had worked our way into 3rd and were settling into a strong rhythm.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. Heavy rain rolled in, forcing officials to abandon the race before it could be completed.

It’s disappointing not knowing what could have been, but we’ll take plenty of positives away from the night. After struggling for confidence on Friday, to bounce back and race our way through every shootout to earn a front-row opportunity and run inside the podium positions was a huge confidence boost for the whole team.

🩶 WASH. CHECK. RESET. 🔧

The laps might be done, but the work never stops.

After another weekend of racing, it was time to strip the #20 down, wash every panel, give everything a thorough once-over and start preparing for the next battle. From mud and grime to nuts, bolts and spanners, every race meeting ends with making sure the car is ready to do it all again.

Racing isn’t won on race day alone—it’s built in the workshop, in the trailer, and during the hours nobody sees.

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support O’Keeffe Racing. We appreciate every message, every sponsor and every person who follows our journey.

What they don’t always see are the hours spent in between.

After a really positive practice session last night, the car gets stripped down, checked over, serviced and prepared all over again. Reliability is just as important as speed, and it’s these little jobs behind the scenes that can make all the difference.

📍WE MADE IT – CAIRNS INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY! 🏁

After thousands of kilometres, plenty of fuel stops, and a journey that’s been years in the making, we’ve officially rolled through the gates at Cairns Speedway.

It’s hard to put into words what this moment means. What started as an idea 4-5 years ago has become reality, with the transporter making its biggest trip yet and delivering us safely to one of the biggest events on our calendar.

For now, it’s time to catch our breath, get settled in, and enjoy the fact that we’ve made it. The Sprintcar will stay tucked away in the transporter until tomorrow, when the real work begins getting everything prepared for race day.

A massive thank you to everyone who’s followed the journey north, sent messages, and supported O’Keeffe Racing along the way. Every bit of encouragement has made the trip even more special.

Tomorrow we’ll start unloading, setting up the pits, and turning our attention to Thunder in the Cane Fields.

The road trip is complete… now the countdown to racing begins. 💪🏁
