We had a great day at Regional 3 today at Iona College. Gold medals to Patrick, Theo and Ulzii, silver to Theo and Gwen (2) and bronze to Sam and Luc. Some wonderful throws, lots of learning and smiles all round.

Sometimes it gets a bit confusing for our juniors and their parents to work out which competitions are for them, so here is a breakdown.
First thing to get your head around - the age categories are not for your age at the date of the comp but are your age this year. If you were born in 2016 you will be 10 in 2026, so your judo age is 10. It doesn’t matter whether you have had your birthday yet.
Next the age groups are in year blocks. U7 is for 5&6 YO, U9 is for 7&8 YO, U11 is for 9&10 YO, U13 is for 11&12 YO, U15 is for 13&14 YO, Cadets is for 15-17 YO and Junior Men/Women is for 18-20 YO. 21 and over is Seniors and 30 and over is veterans.
The younger age groups U7, U9 and U11 are given their own comps called Futures Cup and the next one is 2 August at Coopers Plains. If you were born in 2016-2021, this comp is for you.
U13 and older compete in Regional comps and the next one is 16 August at Iona College. If you were born 2015 or earlier, this one is for you.

Weigh-in

U7 and U9 weigh-in will take place from 8:00 am - 8:30 am
U11 weigh-in will take place from 10:00 am - 10:30 am
Competition Start Times

U7 and U9 divisions will start at 9:00 am.
U11 will start no earlier than 11:00 am.

Whether you are looking to refine your technique or preparing for your upcoming Dan-grading in November (Shodan, Nidan, or Sandan), this seminar is highly beneficial and strongly recommended

Important Requirements:
Who: Open to all judoka aged U13 and up!
