A lot of our members come in wanting to improve their fitness… but end up gaining so much more than that.

We're excited to officially welcome Sheree to the Co Fit coaching team! 👏🏼💚

Many of you will already know Sheree, as she's been a member here at Co Fit for almost 3 years. After years of training in the studio, she's now making the move from member to coach and will be joining the team starting this week!

Sheree has always been a very active person and has played a variety of sports throughout her life, so pursuing a career in fitness felt like a natural next step after deciding to move away from the office environment. With a strong interest in the nutrition side of health and fitness Sheree is looking forward to continuing to build her knowledge in that area while helping our members achieve their goals.

If you're a fan of our Hybrid and Bootcamp sessions, you'll get along with Sheree just fine, as they're her favourite classes to train in and coach... she's also a big fan of finishing sessions with a challenging finisher 😈 Outside of the gym, you'll usually find Sheree reading a good book, snorkelling, or taking Nala out for a bush walk.

Sheree will be in with Jake next week before stepping into coaching shifts of her own, so keep an eye out for Sheree's sessions on the timetable and help us give her a warm welcome to the coaching team! 💚

You might have checked out our timetable and noticed that we have both Strength and Hybrid classes on the timetable… and there’s a reason for that. They each serve a different purpose, and together they create a really well-rounded approach to training.

Our Strength classes are a little slower paced, with more focus on controlled lifting, building strength, improving movement quality, and progressing over time 💪🏼

Our Hybrid classes are a bit more fast paced, combining strength and conditioning exercises in a circuit-style format to improve fitness, endurance, cardiovascular health, and energy levels 🔥

You don’t have to do both to get great results, but combining the two can be a great way to build strength while also improving overall fitness and feeling healthier day to day.

One thing we’ve noticed over the years is that our most consistent members usually aren’t the people with the “most motivation.”

They’re the people who genuinely enjoy coming to training.
We see that through our booking system.
The same people continue showing up week after week, year after year 💚

That’s the benefit of training in an environment where:
✔️ sessions are structured for you
✔️ coaches support and guide you
✔️ you know the people around you
✔️ and training becomes something you actually look forward to

When you enjoy the environment and feel good after training, consistency becomes a whole lot easier.

One of the biggest benefits of small group training is that you get the best of both worlds 💚

You still get the coaching, guidance, exercise modifications, and support you’d expect from a personal trainer… but you also get the energy, motivation, and encouragement that comes from training alongside other people.

For a lot of our members, that community aspect becomes just as important as the workouts themselves. Having coaches expecting you, friendly faces around you, and a session booked into your routine makes it so much easier to stay consistent... especially heading into winter, when the mornings get darker, it’s colder outside, and motivation can start to drop.

And sometimes the biggest win isn’t even the workout itself. It’s taking time for yourself, moving your body, having a laugh with good people, and walking out feeling better mentally and physically than when you walked in 🙌🏼

Muscle loss naturally starts to happen as we get older, especially after 50.
But that doesn’t mean you have to accept it.

Without regular strength training, adults can lose 3–8% of muscle mass each decade, which can impact strength, balance, mobility, energy levels and overall confidence in everyday life.

The good news? Strength training can help slow it down, stop it, and even rebuild muscle at any age.

APRIL'S MVP! 🏆

Our most recent MVP award goes to Noemy! Who is also celebrating her 12 month milestone with us this month, which is awesome!

When Noemy first started she was dealing with a lot of injuries and limitations that would’ve stopped a lot of people from even getting started. Instead, she’s shown up consistently, trusted the process and continued to challenge herself safely week after week. She’s got such a great attitude towards her training, is always willing to give things a go, and although she’s a little quieter in sessions, she’s always friendly and such a lovely person to have in the studio.

Noemy, we love having you here at Co.Fit and we’re excited to see you continue building on everything you’ve achieved so far 👏🏼💚
