Meet Stacie. One year in, 20+ kilos down, and barely recognisable from where she started.
Before One Life, Stacie was doing her own thing in the gym and not really getting anywhere. She wanted to lose weight, but there was no structure and no real plan behind it. Google was the closest thing she had to a coach.
Reaching out for help was the part that scared her. Gym anxiety, a couple of bad experiences with personal trainers, and a history of never quite being able to stick to a program. So for a long time, she didn’t.
When she finally walked through our doors, she noticed the difference straight away. A welcoming room, no judgement, nothing like the gyms she’d tried before. Tia and the coaches had her back from the start. Pushing when she needed pushing, understanding when life got in the way.
The hardest part was never the training. It was the inner critic.
“I’ve always come back because of the support and never feeling judged for falling off the wagon.”
That’s the bit that changed everything. Stacie kept coming back. And over time she noticed she was getting back on track faster, with less guilt and far less of that harshness toward herself. That was how she knew it was working.
A year on, the numbers tell part of the story. More than 20 kilos down. Stronger, physically and mentally, than she’s ever been. But the bigger shift is the one you can’t weigh. She doesn’t dread the gym anymore. She’s learnt to accept herself through the process, and she’s learnt she’s far more capable than she ever gave herself credit for.
Her advice for anyone sitting where she once sat?
“If you’re lost, lack support and accountability, not sure what to do but know where you want to be, do yourself a favour and just try. The team here will give you all the resources. You just need to show up.”.
