Just over 2 weeks ago I ticked off another lifelong goal, racing at the Winternationals!! Over the years I've entered a few times but always ended up as a spectator or crewing. This year it all came together and with family and a great group supporting me, I finally got to make it happen.
First pass out we turned down the launch rpm and put a fairly base setup in it as a starting point. It was a great start to the event doing 4 pb's in that one pass, 60ft, half track, mph and ET running 8.73.
2nd pass we turned up the launch and made a couple of minor setup changes. The car responded well and again reset pb's for 60ft, half track and ET running 8.70. Mph was down as I lifted about 50m from the finish line learning the difference between the shift light and rpm crossing the line.
3rd pass the car played up but I am so happy it did because we were able to get some great data from all 3 runs and compare them, which highlighted the exact issue its been having the whole time. Unfortunately that was our Winternationals done due to the Supercomp field being cut back to 16 but we have all confidence that the issue is sorted!!
Thanks alot to all my family and friends that made it possible and all of those that made the effort to come down and support us whether it was for a quick chat, a day trip or the whole time. Legends!!
Thanks to Mic Sharp at 1320 Motorsports, Motorsport Composites, Fuel Asset Finance, Mark Hammond (Norris RAM Aspley), Carter Customs Australia, Mark Tralau (Outcast Automotive), Tim Kratzke Detailing, Brenton Wharton, TOCA, Ricky Fenwick and Paul from PST Performance Automotive and ET Chassis for all your help getting me there!!
