Hi! It's Jeanie here.

It's been a while since I first started meeting friends on Facebook, so I just wanted to come here to introduce myself to any new community members and welcome you to my network.

I live in Australia and I've been teaching English to new Australians for 20 years. I absolutely adore teaching English through visual art experiences.

My husband and I live on a small acreage in Gladstone, Queensland where we enjoy breeding chooks and growing our own vegetables. It's also where I love to create my artworks. It's our little piece of paradise😊.

I’m so happy to meet you here and have you in my community.

Let me know in the comments below:

Where do you find your little piece of paradise?

What do you want to see in my daily posts that can be of help to you?

How many weird Australian words can you find in our weekend wordsearch?

G'day, it's Jeanie MacNamara here.

I thought I might introduce myself to you, tell you a little bit about myself, what I do and why I do it. Hopefully we can get together if you, or someone you know and love might need my help.

Even though I've lived in Australia for most of my life, I wasn't born here. I know how tricky our Australian terms can be to anyone, even if English is their first language. I also know how much harder it is if English isn't your first language. I have been teaching Art for over 20 years, mostly to students who don't have English as their first language.

I started this business because I saw a real need in our Australian Multicultural society. I saw that the young people accessed English at school, workers in the family accessed English at work, but anyone who stayed at home, didn't get those same opportunities and they really struggled with learning this very difficult language.

To help solve this problem, as well as the boredom that often arises when people don't get out of the house as often as they used to, I've developed a program to help creative wives and mothers of international professionals, living in Australia make beautiful artworks and socialise with Australians by advancing their communication and creative skills.

I’m so happy to connect with you here and have you in my network.

Please don’t hesitate to comment here or message me if you’d like to introduce yourself as well 😊

Alternatively, feel free to email me at [email protected]

I’m looking forward to learning more about you!

How do you relax on your days off?
Austrlians find many ways to relax and wind down on their days off. They might go fishing, or meet up with friends, or even garden.

How do you relax when you have spare time?

Let me know in the comments below and have a great day!

i, Jeanie here.

It is quite common to hear Australians say:

"No Worries"

Have you come across it before?

Its meaning can vary.
It can mean "You're Welcome"
as well as "I don't need to worry about that"

It can be a great saying to use when someone thanks
you for doing something for them, or to show that the problem you are facing won't ruin your day.

To help you, here are some examples of using this saying.

If someone says:
"Thanks so much for watering my garden for me while I was away.ā€
You might respond with
"No worries!"

Or if you dropped your phone and broke the screen,
you might say:

"No worries! It's time I bought a new phone anyway!"

Let’s try to use it this week when you can.

Please like the video and comment below to let me
know when you have heard ā€œno worriesā€ being used and any questions you might
have about it.
