Round 1 Wrap-Up 🖤🤍
What a fantastic start to the season!
The sun was shining, our courts were full, and the energy across the association was incredible. From our youngest players stepping onto the court for their very first game, to our senior players—some returning after a long break—it truly showcased what makes netball so special.
Netball brings people together across all age groups, and Round 1 was a perfect reflection of that.
A huge thank you to all of our behind-the-scenes volunteers who make game day possible:
• Game Day Office team
• Umpiring coordinators & Vest volunteers
• First Aid
• Canteen crew
• Our BBQ legends St Brigids, serving up some great eats (who doesn’t love a bacon & egg roll!)
We appreciate you all and everything you do for our community 👏
Friendly Reminders for Moving into Round 2
To help ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, we kindly ask all clubs, teams, and spectators to continue supporting the following:
🚫 No Photography or Videography
Photography and video recording are NOT permitted during games under any circumstances. Thank you for respecting player safety and privacy.
💍 Jewellery Policy
All jewellery must be removed before taking the court.
Taping is NOT permitted unless for medical or cultural reasons.
In these cases:
• Items must be securely taped and covered with a sweatband
• A pink slip must be obtained from the Umpiring Office for each game
• The pink slip must be clipped to the scoresheet clipboard at each game.
👟 Spectator Areas
We know the first few weeks are exciting, with lots of family and supporters coming along. Please remember:
• Spectators must stay in designated areas only
• Set up on the opposite side of your team bench
• End-to-end court areas must remain clear at all times
• If walking past during a game, please wait until umpires have cleared the sideline
Our volunteers in pink vests are here to help keep everyone safe—players, officials, and spectators—so please support and respect their role.
📣 Coaches, Assistants & Managers – Development & Game Management
During all timeslots, including NSG, we ask that all coaching staff support the development of players and umpires through positive game management:
• Please avoid pacing up and down the sidelines
• If direction is needed, you may move to the respective end, provide feedback, then return to the bench
• Continuous encouragement should come from the team bench area
Our NSG umpires are in a development phase and are there to manage the game while guiding players on court where needed. This is an important part of building confidence and understanding for everyone involved.
🗑️ Rubbish & Clean-Up
We kindly ask everyone to take responsibility for the area around them. If you see rubbish—even if it’s not yours—please help by placing it in the bins provided.
This small effort makes a big difference and helps reduce the workload for our volunteers, who stay on-site after all games to complete final rubbish collection. Let’s all do our part to keep our courts clean and welcoming for everyone.
🚫 No Animals Allowed
No animals are permitted inside the association grounds. This includes pets in carriers or slings.
🐶 As cute as they are, please ensure all pets are left at home. This helps us maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all players, officials, and spectators.
Thank you again to everyone for your support and cooperation in helping create a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for all.
We can’t wait to see you back on court for Round 2!
